When Barrett was brought on there were other coaches interested but we all know Toovey should have never been punted if capability was the true measure. Barrett was hyped up as a super coach in the making by people like Gould. As we saw this was all hot air. By the time Barrett’s tenure was over and he aired his frustrations through the media not many were interested and we were even rejected somewhat by Madge 😂. We were lucky Dessie was in a similar boat taking a lot of the rap for the doggies demise. A match made in heaven I guess. Btw, Barrett’s biggest problem this year will be fanatics within the Kennel if he does not deliver.

Its kind of ironic really. Gould instigated the beginning of Barrett's first grade coaching career by recommending him to Bozo Fulton. Now it looks like Gould will make the decision that ends Barret's first grade coaching career.

Yeah, seeing Tooves go like that didn't sit well with me at all. These days, only prefer coaches that are either ex Manly players or Manly aligned.

Barrett still a flog who can't coach at Under 5s level, a flog who always was and always will be no matter what he does when it comes to coaching a footy team, he might be a great bloke socially, in the gym, at the beach, having a BBQ or just watching ( and I only mean watching) a kids footy game, but when it comes to being a first grade footy coach hes' a toilet seat, useless until you really need it and only then you bear your arse and sit on it.... thats Barrett ... a toilet seat.. You just know that even when the Dogs inevitably jag a few wins against quality opposition due to the talent they've bought, that they will have a soft underbelly while ever Barrett is coach. I've seen it with lots of coaches and remember the Barrett era at Manly well...come out and fire one week and get all excited that a corner had been turned, only for the side to get flogged the next.
