Thanks... because I have absolutely no clue of whom I am garnering support from, or for what reason I am supposedly doing it. Completely ridiculous assertion.

There are also a few on this site who didnt buy into "the sky is falling and it's all Twents fault" theory too KW... in my view, our culture was toxic when Twent came and whilst he couldnt overcome the situation, I think the whole situation was more a reflection on certain 'powerbrokers' at Manly than it was on his coaching ability... hopefully he gets some clear air at the dogs and if he does than he will need to put the runs on the board, and I wont be surprised if he does... there are people more in the know than I who say he can coach and players all sing his praises so we will see I guess...
Well said. It's refreshing to know that some people can reflect objectively and call it how it is
we all love manly... but seriously the experts here seem to know more than professional players, coaches, and administrators. What a stitch up

Yes, Trent May well do better a second time around. My reasons for questioning his character are due to the manner in which he exited the club.

Giving notice so his contract would expire halfway through the 2019 season. Seeking out Phil Gould and the media to air our dirty laundry. Attempting to hijack our 2020 success (achieved with mass injuries to key players) by crediting himself for the squad. Blaming poor training facilities and players having to change in their cars. Trying to earn kudos because his family cleaned the gym and provided furniture etc...

There is a thread which has been started today about Des Hasler’s “we make our own luck” that illustrates (in my opinion) the difference between the two coaches.

Can't believe after all this time people still believe that Barrett should have been allowed to stay at this club. At least now if he gets the Dogs job we can see once and for all if he has any talent. But at this stage all I can see from him is a bloke with a great PR team behind him and bugger all substance. Much like Seibold used to have.

Biggest issue I can see is him trying to poach some of our junior talent albert hopoate, sione fainu, josh schuster.
Afb off contract end of next year he may sniff around him also.
I doubt he will sign AFB. Remember, we may have lost Marty and Addin if Barrett stayed on as coach. Those 2 didnt have much time for Barrett and his favourite drinking buddies

Absolutely no comparison between the two. Couldn't even put his name in the same sentence as our great genius Des. Don't get me wrong, couldn't stand him at Manly and can say nothing to defend his character. I was just trying to give credit where it's due, and am referring only to his attacking football mind, and the potential for a great head coach one day.. I think the dogs will benefit greatly, but tbh couldn't give a rat's arse either way

I am worried that the board would leak the news of Trent's signing so early (if true) to test the waters. It's a concern the board tend to make their decisions by public opinion rather than anything else.

I may dislike Trent as a person and coach but it is tough to see such a neophyte skipping merrily into the depths of hell ... he thought Manly was dysfunctional lolol gonna be a rude shock.

2nd time he's got into a coaching gig with media mates talking him up - while the incumbent coach is fighting for his survival. It is a little smelly frankly.

Yeah nah, sorry for my info on Afb signed til end of 2022. So in essence the core of team turbos, dce, walker, afb, marty and suli signed up longterm. While young schuster and ben turbo signed for couple of seasons.

Yeah read something similar on Foxsports.....Barrett planning a raid on the Sea Eagles. Cartwright first but no mention of who else. Des better ensure Hopoate, Schuster, Olakau’atu etc are tied up!!!!
Barrett is chasing Albert Hopoate big time

It appear Barrett is a very good assistant coach but maybe he just does not transition well into the top job. Time will tell. Interest that Seibold was assistant under Barrett.
