Ethan Bullemor

I don't see how releasing MoreBull will ease Brisbane's salary cap. He'd be a relative cheapie. Yet there is speculation they are after expensive Mitchell Pearce? How does that work?
anyone else notice the photo of pearce in this article?
he looks like he just spotted a dog with its butt up in the air!

As a fringe first grader he would be on minimum wage, so will only free up small dollars for broncos one would assume.
True; however, it may be more a matter of opportunity cost and not wanting to pay overs by getting into a bidding war. They are likely weighing up the expected cost of outbidding all rivals against the opportunity of locking in Haas and/or other priority targets.

The Haas situation is interesting given he’s under contract til the end of 2024,so by rights, nobody can make an offer to him before November 2023.Given the Broncos want him basically for the rest of his career, other than appeasing his manager, what’s the rush to re-sign him,why not wait a bit longer to see if his current trajectory continues.Cows are starting to feel the affects of Taumalolo’s contract now with a different coach to the one who signed him to the long term

I agree that the ten year contract business is a mistake; however, I’m also aware of managers pushing the most favourable case for their clients. Maybe that is what is happening as you mentioned. Plus contract extensions being negotiated now for other players and new targets will likely project to 2024 and beyond, so perhaps they want a little more certainty of what their core talent will be taking up cap wise over the next 5 years.

I suspect the expansion team,if they decide to have one, will be frightening a few clubs, especially the Broncos. That’s probably why they want to lock him up long term and why he won’t re-sign at the moment

The broncs never let a player go that they do not want to keep....remember those days!
