Dummy half battle about to get real

I think the Titans re-signed another Clark who is a hooker - Erin Clark. Gold Coast Titans re-sign Erin Clark amid interest in England international Daryl Clark
The Gold Coast Titans have reportedly signed English international hooker Daryl Clark from 2022 onwards, per multiple UK media outlets. _ There’s plenty of speculation in the UK overnight that Daryl Clark has signed with the Titans, however at this stage, no official report has come from Warrington or the Titans. _ Clark, 28, is considered one of the best hookers in the Super League and has played 272 games since making his debut in 2011. _ He’s also played 10 international games for England & Great Britain, mostly off the bench stuck behind Josh Hodgson. _ This could prove a very pivotal signing for the Titans. With Erin Clark extended earlier this year and Mitch Rein still unsigned from 2022 onwards, unfortunately this could spell an end to his time at the club. _ Whilst it would be unfortunate for the Titans to lose Mitch Rein, Daryl Clark looms as the final piece in their spine rebuild. _ He’s won the Man of Steel medal, which is the Super League’s Dally-M Medal equivalent. He’s played in four Challenge Cup’s & won the Lance Todd Trophy (Clive Churchill equivalent). He’s also played in two two grand finals.

If / when Fainu is available - and Lawton fit (and we don't know how Fainu is going post shoulder surgery) - indeed, we will have 4 players fighting for the dummy half role - soon (ish).

A far cry from the start of the season when we wondered if we really had anybody at all. May the best man - or men (or whatever your personal pronoun is) win.

The club, and ourselves as spectators, are the winners I think. I'm not going to start either backing anyone or death riding anyone. How good is it to have real competition for places for a change. With other players coming back from injury in the next few weeks (Sirro, Suli, Walker), we'll get more of this 'competition' thing. About time. You beauty.

We've played lots of top 6 teams already - and the Panfers twice. Time to pillage the rest of 'em with a fit and firing team for the rest of this year.

fainu is potentially the greatest hooker I have seen since cam smith

he has speed on his feet and speed between the ears

speed kills !
have you watched Harry Grant? He would burn past Fainu in almost every facet of the game.

Fainu is our missing link. Geez I hope he gets off. Imagaine having Fainu and Lawton as our 9 and 14 on top of what we have already. A couple more quality additions and we will be genuine contenders.

IF Fainu is not cleared id be going Mitch Rein. Titans have just announced the signing of pommy Daryl Clark so Rein is without a contract and would come relatively cheap. Lawton and Rein as our 9s and Croker/Cust as options is still a good rotation. Rein is carving recently and has one of the best passes in the comp, he has experience and is quick enough to dart out of hooker.
I really can't think of many others out there.
Rein's service has improved but he was let go by Saints because of his poor service. The Titans are also leaking points galore and he is not the best defender in the middle of the ruck; willing? Yes. Effective? No.

I think we all hope Fainu is found not guilty , if so get him back in ASAP.

If he’s guilty his contract will be torn up.

That’s how it should be.
If Fainu is found not guilty, his return will be as impactful (positively) to the club as Turbos return four weeks ago. (maybe more so). He is right up there with Harry Grant as the most promising longterm nine in the game.
If he is found guilty, yes his contract will be torn up, and his promising career as an elite NRL football will be over, and rightly so. Unfortunately, this could have a ripple out effect i.e A negative impact on the club for some years to come.
I hope the exculpatory evidence presented by Fainu's defence is significantly greater than the inculpatory evidence presented by the prosecution.
He will be a great loss to the club if found guilty, so I hope that he is exonerated on all charges.

Your 100% correct - anyone who understands the game would know Fainu would be an instant improvement on the side and potentially every good as Grant or any other 9 in the NRL...maybe better...

Even if he is found not guilty I’d be surprised if he hit the ground running straight away... he hasn’t played for 2 years. Next season after a full off season perhaps.

I saw that and figured that if they had signed him they would be singing from the rooftops!!!

Sounds like a great get for the Titans if they have got his signature, although perhaps the Gold Coast has too many temptations for an Englishman!! He should instead come to Manly.

No matter how good he was... he wont be the same player. Like Hopoate.. or others who go away on those missions.. They dont come back the same player. Fainu has had a long time out of the game.. The only benefit i guess would be that he is still training? he is aloud to train with our group?

Will need time.

I just hope the defence have as many witnesses as the prosecution apparently have.

Fainu is legitamately the missing link. Literal potential to be the best hooker in the game and just threw his career away. I hope he revives it well, he is a younger and more talented version of Koriasau and will do wonders with this current Manly side. We need him bad.

The defence only needs to supply one person if Fainu is innocent...the one who did it. If they can and do, Fainu will be READY to play the following weekend. If the club know he will be exonerated he will be ready. If not, they will tear up his contract and move on with his younger siblings knowing that we did everything possible for him.

I remember getting my daily dose of Silvertails for ten years as an interested reader when I lived in Newtown. I shared a house with a Tigers player and two Jets players who were forever putting sh1t on me for supporting Manly.

I'd wander across the road to the internet cafe with a coffee in hand, settle back, and enjoy the action.

@Ryan was a favourite of mine back then.
