No no, we were perfect, remember. Apparently Garrick and others had a blinder and we were fantastic. Really poor offensive performance from us in my view.

We lacked any penetration in attack.
Respectfully, I disagree. It was a tough, gritty game. Against the Knights and the Warriors we had very good attacking games. But this was a very different game. The playmakers earned their teams lots of repeat sets, and both teams were brilliant on their goal lines. The only real defensive error came from the Parker try. Of the other three tries, two were grubbers and one came from a ad-lib offload and a reflex catch.

It was just a tight game.

I think the ref ****ed up and just didnt think about it and called fulltime.by then it was too late. Probly crappin his pants in the sheds as we speak.

In his interview, Des said teams were advised during the week to be careful re 'escort tackles', so was dismayed when the last blatant one by Aitken wasn't penalised
Especially as in the first half Nase was penalized for interfering with the Drags ball taker :banghead:

I'd hate to be in the defensive line with you next to me!
I am proud of their effort but sorry I don't pop champagne after a loss and it's sad that manly fans now act like a close loss is good enough. I'm sure Des doesn't think that and it sounds like something Barrett would have said after a loss.

And we just saw why fans are turning away big time from the NRL

Completely farcical bias and pathetic refereeing by incompetent fools!!!
We actually won the penalties 10-6, a rarity.
I don't think the ref was too bad, but calling for a video review of a phantom 'try' is amateur hour.
I thought that the vidiots were to be used sparingly this season.

Yeah if you don't get with the group think mentality some how your not a true supporter. I have never worked like that and will never. It doesn't make me any less a supporter.
Hey @Jigzkiller considering as you stated that our team is full of reserve grade players i don't understand why you are so upset with that performance? What else did you expect? We almost got away with a with a win against a team who on paper should have blown us off the park.

I don't rate the dragons that highly but at wollongong I concede it was a good effort. But as a manly fan since 1971 good efforts don't turn me on sorry.

The thing which gets me
That penalty they got off that no try was laughable.
Joke beyond belief

The thing that beats me is that the ball never even got to the in-goal area and they weren't going to call it a penalty try, so why on earth did the ref stop play and send it upstairs as a no-try and ask to check the contact?

There wasn't any chance it was going to be a try either way so basically the only reason the referee sent it upstairs was to look for a penalty, which is not what the bunker is there for.

And then to refuse to do the same at the other end when Garrick was clearly taken off the ball by a defender who had no intention of contesting the kick, just blocking Reuben's run.....Cherry had every right to be blowing up about that.

Still, even though we lost it was a damn good effort tonight and shows that we're definitely heading in the right direction. All we really lacked tonight was that one quality player, a Turbo or Walker, who could have got over the try line.
