It is now apparent that Des has already implemented new defensive structures, and that he is squeezing every ounce of potential from certain players who were regarded as journeymen, rookies, or NSW Cup standard before the season began. But for mine, his biggest impact has been on our forwards.
We have had the makings of a scary pack for the past three seasons, yet they seemed to lack that killer instinct, often running out of puff and allowing teams to carve us up through the middle. With AFB back this weekend, we may just have the best 8-17 in entire competition.

Fulton did most of the hiring while Barrett was coach
Not suggesting for one minute Fulton wasn't heavily involved .... just objecting to the complete stupidity of saying that there is not one player in our 30 that Baz recruited .....
It is just another level of numbnuttedness to say on one hand everything is the coach Barrtt's fault ... no excuses ... and then when it appears we have a good squad ... the same numbnuts say oh, but Baz the coach had nothing to do with recriutment and retension .. he had no say whatsoever in the team .....

I would hazard a guess that Keppie,Waddell,Elgey,Hodkinson,Suli,Garrick and Elliot would all be Barrett signings..would think that all the rest apart from Boyle and Smith might be Bozo.

It is what you DO with them that counts.
Last year we had what looked like a group of individuals doing their best with the information they were given.
This year, we have a group of individuals that look like a team, with everyone knowing their roles and responsibilities within the team.
