[Resurrected] DCE is the worst halfback in the NRL

Uhm we just got touched up by 30 points and people are claiming he had a good game because he made a couple of try saving tackles and tried hard ?? It's never his fault, I get that, it wasn't his fault tonight either. But he was just as ineffective as everyone else out there tonight and his kicking game was rocks and diamonds. Sure he tried hard, they all did, but he gets paid to drive this side around the park and compete. Didn't earn his paycheque tonight because we got handed a football lesson.

Im the first to jump on the bandwagon and bag DCE when warranted.. but DCE was our best tonight. He had a good game in a well beaten side. Doesn't mean much but it is what it is.. penrith were perfect. No team in the comp would of beaten them tonight

And a fullback, dummy half, centre, winger and some aggro in defence.

Des is a one man band in this present backline. I've been saying it for weeks. Unless Des makes some big changes in this 1-6, he's saying goodbye to the finals

He had one who got dropped for really no good reason.....

He also needs an attacking fullback. We have one of those too, only.....he's out injured.

He also needs a good attacking dummy half. Funny thing, we have one of those too, only.....he's out injured too, not to mention his legal troubles.

For the past 3-4 weeks Cust has been the perfect foil for him and Cherry's form has ridden accordingly. Tonight unfortunately once Walks got injured early, again, he was pretty much playing a lone hand.

DCE all class in foxsports interview he did not miss the mark at all in his assessment.

attitude was not there last night he said.

you could tell that was not up to his standards as a team.

if we see no reponse on Friday from our team then something is seriously wrong.

You have to be the biggest a hole supporter I have come across. He was outstanding tonight and tried everything to lift the team around him, 3 try saving tackles, was everywhere in defence, set up both tries, kicked a 40-20. Give yourself an uppercut .

He is an excellent leader and that came across in his interview. After such a disappointing loss that is what I wanted to see. He was filthy.

Cleary was outstanding tonight but in a badly losing team Daly stood out, as he should.

It's like you expect DCE to be able to win games single handed because he gets paid more... have a look at tonight's game - it was an arm wrestle until 15-20min in when pennies started to win the field position and THEN Cleary stepped up with some great passing to take advantage of their opportunities...
Dce put Jake in and Jorge in with the few opportunities we had but we were on the back foot for large portions of the game and he is an NRL player not Harry Potter...
In all honesty, when you criticize DCE for a game like tonight it just detracts from the validity of your contributions when he DOES have a bad game because you come across as determined to blame everything on Cherry regardless of what he does... it is possible to play well in a losing team and DCE showed tonight what that looks like...

DCE is in my opinion close to the complete package of what you want as a half. Moses and Cleary are certainly outstanding, but I would not prefer either to the DCE we have.

All things are possible ... but what comes first ... the forwards or the backs ... which one relies on a good performance of the other the most ?

I can't help thinking about a comment Sirro made a couple weeks ago along the lines of "it would be nice to get a few repeat sets"). Cust played well the week before and we actually got a couple of repeat sets and the result was a good win against the Cows. I wouldn't be surprised if the pack is frustrated by the pedestrian backs. I would be.
