I still can't see Foz being used as a hooker. His body is fragile enough just playing in the halves, let alone playing the middle of the field making loads of tackles or doing all the other things dummy halves do like running instead of just passing.
For mine, Foz was brought back to play in the halves alongside Cherry which also has the added bonus of allowing Walker to move back to his more natural and comfortable position of centre.
Lachlan Croker was pretty much a disaster in 2020, whether he played dummy half or whenever he had to start at 5/8 (strangely enough, his best games, all 2 of them, were when he had to replace Walks at 5/8 after Dylan's early game injuries. He stood up and played well in those games against Canberra and later Penrith, even though we lost to Penrith). Cust on the other hand ... while I think he somewhat plateaued as a 5/8, he didn't crumble under pressure nearly half as much as Croker tended to. And the fact that he was a junior hooker before being moved to the halves only what, 4 years ago(?) is in his and hopefully our favour. Dummy half is not new to him, hopefully its just a matter of taking a pre-season refresher course.
I'd honestly expect Manly's best spine in 2021 will be Turbo at FB, Foz at pivot, Cherry at half and Cust at #9. That may change as time goes on, but for now its what I think our best bet is.
