Croker

Unfortunately even Crokers strongest card apart from being a good bloke and hard worker, is his defence....well defensive numbers at least, yes a reliable defender, but gets dominated often in the ruck to allow a roll on of momentum for the opposition and this is his strongest "suit" in his game.
The lack of being able to bring the big men over the advantage line in attack and zero threat from dummy half is a killer, especially in the modern game more than ever.
Need another 9 in 2025 or can expect no gain in the finish on the ladder come seasons end.

No one would deny Crokers heart and determination and he has taken so many knocks for our cause.

I believe that if we are serious about challenging for a premiership, we need a 9 who dominates the ruck because that is our greatest weakness. We do not control the ruck and concede too many metres.

Is Froggy too light to be a lock ??

Great defender that’s no doubt, but lockis a tireless defence position

Jake to the Prop rotation.

Thoughts on this ??
It's not just his size, but also his style of play that makes him unsuitable to be a lock. Isaah Yeo is a lock. Cam Murray is a lock. Froggy is not.

He's a converted half who plays as a hooker. Really, his only two viable positions in a rugby league team are as a half or a hooker. We have better options in the halves, and we need better options at hooker. He can still play a role and add something to the team, either starting at hooker or coming off the bench, but he can't be our first and only option.

The two mentioned are probably the 1 & 2 best in the game so I’m not sure that’s a completely fair comparison.

Im not by the way disagreeing with you.

I personally suggested this a whole back as the Frog was a 5/8 which translates across to lock well
Just lacks "impact" is my thoughts too gain that momentum when running, but still a better option then persisting at 9 imo

Yeah I forwarded that proposition a while back too. If Taukeaho, Tent, Jake, Bully, Aloia, Toff and the lad from the doggies can do the job at prop, then between Froggy, Navale, Tevaga, & Bateman surely we can have lock covered with Mole, Burbo, (Bully / Bateman), Chee Cam, and Matterson filling the second row spots (who have I forgotten) ... Schoup could possibly end up a second rower.

I'm not joking, but Chee cam if comes off bench modern game and used properly could easily exploit tired middles and not pretending a world beater....but has the attributes in attack to creat problems for middle defenders late in each half....and be a better stint from him this time round....

The injury he suffered this season set him back in terms of form on the field.

Post injury he was below par at nine, has been given a good opportunity to lock down the nine jumper and it’s time to go another direction there.

He has slowed down with his running pace and if you don’t have size to play 13 you definitely need leg speed and footwork, haven’t seen that in his game.

The telegraph had an article last week about a club wanting to medically retire a player, it crossed my mind at the time if it was Croker.

Me too. That was a very serious injury he suffered last year. If he was my son I’d want him to retire.

Croker has to be appreciated and Admired for being a courageous and tough player
Just like Parker for example
But his career has always been hampered mainly by his limited talent

The limited Croker has over exceeded expectations and power to him

But Manly Power is all about Premiership Winning Success
and people at Manly must step up and live up to our Legendary Clubs Great Benchmark Premiership winning standards

Because if we
Lower our Legendary clubs Great Premiership Winning Standards
and We stand for Nothing Great

LETS SOAR LIKE GREAT EAGLES ABOVE MEDIOCRITY
AND MAKE MANLY GREAT AGAIN !!!

We already do have. Jake Simpkin for one is far superior at dummy half. TBH I don't know what happened to see him dropped back to Blacktown.

But the truth is we won't win a Premiership, or even play in a Grand Final IMO, until we have a proper dummy half and as much as we like Froggy ... the first choice hooker we require is not him.

What do you mean you dont know what happened to him feathered friend ?
All players are at the Mercy of their coaches perspective views

I mean exactly that, why did he get dropped?? For the first time since we lost Api and Manase Fainu in one foul swoop, we had a dummy half who actually gave very good dummy half service.

That was the first time in 4 years. FOUR. YEARS.

So why did Seibold drop him??
