Coronavirus sucks.. but the NRL lives!

My first house ( 1975) , $25,000

My weekly wage , $75, my wife’s $60, house repayments $40 per week, I owned my own car a clapped out 1070’s Holden.

We had virtually nothing in the house, a double bed ( wedding present ) , a laminex table and four chairs ( wedding present) and that was it.

In 1977 , and unexpectedly, our first daughter arrived . My salary at the time $105 per week.

I had to take a second job on pumping petrol on the weekends just to get by.

It honestly pisses me off when the younger generation whinge about us Boomers , don’t forget we were still paying a house off with EIGHTEEN PERCENT INTEREST thanks to “the recession we had to have”.

Yes we’ve been “ lucky” but **** me we’ve done the hard yards too which is something Millenials know nothing about.
Man your triggered

It's the fear of the boomers, they're the ones in line to take a trip to see their maker, without the 3 houses they bought for $1500 40 years ago which they rent out for$509 a week while complaining gen y won't give them double that price a week for the slums they have, they be like'i never knew hardship so let's make up stories about your grandparents'

It'll only take 0.4% of gen y, the chronically ill ones while the boomer it's 1 from 5, hope it only picks the slumlords
It sure is a cold hearted world we live in.

Don’t pay attention to the diatribe Mark.

My moose are very clean thank you!

In fact it's recommended that you moose instead of soap for a germ free life!

"I hate it when millennials complain about us boomers"

~Continues to complain about millennials.~

NZ has effectively just closed their borders from 10pm tomorrow night.

Which means the Warriors would have to stay in Australia and not travel home OR, that’s it all over red rover the NRL season as in suspension almost immediately!!

PS: you couldn’t have one team disadvantaged by not being able to play.

NZ hasn’t closed their borders BUT if you arrive you have to self isolate for 14 days.

In essence killing tourism , and business travel.

Guess that puts an end to Supe Rugby? No one will probably notice

Maybe speaking a bit too soon or prematurely but no cases of corona recorded in the North Queensland region to date [ one in Rockhampton apparently ]. If the present trend continues for a couple of days , one proposal that i noticed today could be to play future N R L fixtures in the Nth Qld region mainly based in Townsville but could also include Cairns and Mackay [near where i live ] and basing the players , referees and so on in the regions as well . Not an unrealistic suggestion by any means . Townsville for instance could stage say two double headers on a Friday and Sunday and one each in Cairns and Mackay from say on a Thursday and Saturday or whatever order . The tourism industry is doing it a bit tough at the moment and even allowing for the leisure factor , could rotate the players and officials in the resort locations and a bit more isolation in the Mackay , Whitsubday , Townsville and Cairns regions and not that far from training facilities and so on . If the present Corona free situation did continue , maybe even the crowd number restrictions could be eased a bit and one of the other rational reasons to relocate matches there , to allow more crowd attendance from the the current curtailment . Anyway again only an option that was mooted today and of course totally dependent on the short term trend of the spread of the virus and continuing to avoid northern areas for what ever time .
