Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I find it incredibly amusing ( from some ) that we lose , it’s Seidud’s fault.

We win , not a mention is made.

You can’t have it both ways.

The game plan is noticeably different from earlier in the year , the football department is getting it right , playing to our strengths , what little we have.
Yep, Tonight wasn't all or none high risk footy either, There is the beginnings of a game built for finals starting to show birth.

There was grinding.

There was some lines speeds, found in the last month.

There was patience, conservative with the ball earning the right to attack.

There was still plenty to improve upon. But a great win.

Simpkins was only on for a few minutes too, when knocked out. So our forwards ,really did that with one down too.

Early 2022 we actually won four in a row... But not since then.

I think we've won 8 of our last 9 against the Dogs. The only loss was after jerseygate in 2022, what a weird season that was.
You Know If only we won those 2 games against Knights and Titans (that we should have) we would now be in 4th spot

If he keeps it simple we’ll mitigate the obvious scoreline.

For me ( if I was the coach ), this is my pre game speech

Let’s keep it really simple , completing our sets and getting a decent kick in at the end is paramount.

Skipper & Brooksie , your jobs , long kicks into the corners.

Backs , support these long kicks and try and limit their movement up field, frustration will lead to mistakes.

Forwards your job, slow their play the balls down BUT don’t give away penalties , we need to try and hold them in the middle.

IF, we get opportunities at their line , do our best but at least try and get the set restart, don’t panic , build the pressure.

Penalties PLEASE keep these minimal , only give away if it’s a try saver.

Everyone , do your job in defence , no rushing out of the line , slide to cut them off.

If we get behind in possession IT WILL EVEN UP, just do your jobs and work together as a team, don’t hang your heads if we get behind , possesion will change and we’ll get our chances.

Yes they are up the top for a good reason but every side is beatable, now go out there and make the fans proud .

PS: I’m not the coach , or even a pretend coach but this is what I’d say.
Well I'd say he must've read your post @Mark from Brisbane. Reckon he's gone back to only a 5 or 4 on Buzz's coaches at risk meter.

A Seibold team beats a Bellamy coached team.

That's going to upset some people on here.
Why would it upset anyone? We’re all Manly fans here and a win over Melbourne in Melbourne is as good as it gets.

I think it’s fair to wonder where that kind of performance was against the Eels, Knights and Titans a little over a month ago but that’s done now and there’s a decent amount of time left this year for Seibold to prove the doubters wrong. Tonight was a step in the right direction but the consistency has been the issue all along so let’s see where it goes from here.

It's a great win for morale and for 3 in a row. But we still are far off from winning a premiership.
You can only win… keep doing that and it won’t matter how “good” we look…

I thought the effort was amazing tonight… turn up like that each week and play for each other defensively and we will be in the contest - which is all you can ask for as a supporter imo…

I find it incredibly amusing that if we lose, it’s Penn the penny pinching owners fault. But if we win, no mention is made. I thought we couldn’t compete against the marvellous storm system? You can’t have it both ways.

There's about 4 or 5 that jump on here and tell us how sH$t Seibold is at any opportunity. So yeah those guy's.

As long as it's not Seibs fault, the ASS haters will be happy 😁

As long as the ASS gives credit where credits due no one will be unhappy.

But as I said above , the ASS can’t have it both ways, a loss can’t all be the coaches fault & neither is a win all to do with the coach.

You could see last night the team really “ owned” that game.

Credit to Seibs , he put a bit more effort into line speed in defence and number in tackles.

Let's see if we can maintain this intensity over the next month.

Remember, we came off a bye with zero Origin players, so I would have been really pissed if we didn't play well.

It looks good when it is executed well by the players… we completed our sets, made some important one-on-one tackles and did not give away any pressure relieving penalties last night (which generally f*cking kill us)…
