Club News 2022

What was the crowd number at Mudgee? I was there and reckon it was at least 8,000 but the number wasn't posted anywhere I saw.

Interesting the club put up Bullemor for a press interview despite being dropped last week. I guess it shows he's still very much part of the mix for this season.

People told me I was crazy suggesting he was a depth forward similar to Corey Waddell. Waddell has actually been one of The Bulldogs better forwards too. People were saying he's going to be playing SOO.

I don't think Bullemor is the type of forward we needed. He impressed people with his attacking skills yet we have plenty of such forwards. We need an 'enforcer' now that Kapow is in the latter years of his career. Davey isn't exactly that but he is a hard-worker and gets into the grind, which helps balance our attack-defence ratio.
For next season we have recruited another attacking second rower (from the Tuggers) and I worry that, again, we are concentrating on attack when defence is needed 50% of the match.

Media reports say he's quite intelligent. Maybe he also speaks well, so throw him in front of the mudia. Maybe then they could learn a thing or two about cohesive thoughts. At the least, he could translate for Des..?

Yes, DESpicable is a poor communicator in public although he can obviously get his message across to players in private.
I have been impressed by the fluency of Manly players in media interviews. They are no longer the monosyllabic and cliche utterances of many past interviews.

On the other side it seems we actually have journos asking more insightful questions than the usual sucky uppy claptrap.

Was mentioned on Sunday Night with Matty Johns that Croker has extended for a few more years. He has been going pretty well for us concerning the circumstance. If he develops his running game he will be very handy for us in years to come

after one of the games on the weekend i was watching the post match interview & i counted 9 ummm's in each of 4 sentences with 7 in the other. the kid struggled to put 5 words together without an ummm

“A first up win would have been great for the club and we completely outplayed Wests on the day, but we were penalised out of it by referee Aub Oxford, particularly for scrum infringements,’’ Kirkwood added."

Aaaaandd it's been that way ever since, 76 years of being picked on by the refs - yet still we find ways to win!
