In 2011 we lost the 1st round match to the Squall in a commendable performance.
In the next one we beat the Goosters in a close one. Similar to this year.

The big difference? No hint that Des wants to leave at the end of this season.

Very happy to be wrong.. thought we would lose a tight one for sure.. happy with the result, although still stand by my concern for our attack.. managed 1 try in 160 minutes of footy.. defence is unbelievable tho

We have played the 2 best defensive units so far. Plenty of points to come.

What a joke the refs were, Roosters offside the whole game every single tackle.

Bit lucky. I can't say we were the better team. We won that game because we took 2 points at the start of the game as we should aka (not like last week!) And taking a field goal when we should. We done. Thats one against the feed.

People are criticizing Jorge's positional play and things, but tbh, I think the ways Jorge and Brad play, is part of a set game plan.

Perfectly happy with the way he plays, reminds me of an at his peak Terry Hill (but a more modern style).

Terry needs to give some lessons to Parker on sledging.

I feel for DCE. Thing is he gets lynched if he plays steady and boring but If he goes out of the box and it doesnt work then he gets slated as well.
I feel hes playing well within his skill set which while sometimes boring it's something we need.
I agree his kicking game is very stale which is weird because when he burst onto the scene in 2011 he was a gun kicker. I remember penalty kicks used to get 40 or 50 m but now it's a constant straight yo the sideline method.

What he really needs is a real playmaker in the 6. DW has his moments but hes not a true 6. Cliffy was a 6. Keary is a 6. We need a 6 that has that xfactor. I really hope Schuster could be that man.....

Wow that was something special. Real gutsy effort. Definitely the best defensive performance from Tom in his career. Parker and Walker were great. Croker did some nice stuff. Our go forward up the middle seemed non existent at times but good enough to keep us in it off the back of our highly impressive defence.

That was a tough old win. Old fashioned kind of game, The Roosters over the game looked more dangerous and Manly's desperation especially last ditch defence won the day.

We spent most of the game in our own half with the ball and our ball security was better. We need to be careful of that as you cant expect to defend like that every game.

Tommy Turbo showed an other side to his game, always a threat with the ball this time last ditch defending. He saved two certain tries tonight. Keary must still be wondering how he did not score?

The best thing about the win is in the 2nd half we barely got into their 22 and two times we did we came away with points thats the sign of a good team.

If the team defends as it has done in rounds 1 and 2 we will give this premiership a shake, its early season and you hope that we do more with the ball because we have been rather predictable with it so far.

Special mention to Dylan Walker who did a really good job and Levi who gave quality service.

Shame we could not be there as those are the sort of games that you live and breathe every play!

DCE played well, don’t know what some of you guys expect. He set up a try and a few half line breaks plus was awesome in defence. His kicking game was just ok, but he had a lot of offside pressure to deal with and some poor service on a few occasions.

The roosters defence is great. They were offside all game and stifled our forwards (a tactic that is obviously going to be used against us all season, unless the refs give us a hand by keeping it fair).

Walker is warming up and developing a combination with Parker. Very exciting.

Are you actually throwing blame on walker.... smh.... Dce made SO many wrong decisions today. Walker was great! As a fight eighth !
