A disappointing way to end the season, but I've got to say, Manly gave me plenty of good times this year when everything else in my life was handing out lemons.

Week 2 of finals.

Some great additions to our side.

Some steel and grit shown in our game.

And some pretty damn attractive footy to watch, at times.

Still, another year without a premiership.

But since one of my life lessons this year has been all about patience, it seems fitting that I've got to embrace that with Manly, too.

Thanks @Ryan for hanging in there with me. Maybe one day we'll make it through a match without one of us losing it hahaha.

Love our community here on Silvertails.

Even on nights like this, when the losses are hard to take.

Go Manly!

TBH, from an entertainment point of view, 2021 wins hands down. That said, this season we looked closer to being a decent threat than any other time this past decade. Nevertheless, still some work to be done, and I’m not convinced we are even aware of what still needs to improve, let alone be able to implement it.

Rugby League is the real winner, and we can always rely on it when everything else in life is going to ****. Glad to you got some good takeaways from the season amongst life circumstances. Patience is key, I waited 8 years to get back to finals, your team is doing well and will continue to make progress.

Rorters just have too much talent. Even their no names would be in our starting 13. Only Ole, turbo, Hopa and maybe DCE, brooks, Bullemor would make the combined team.
ReSign Lodge. He is half decent.
Burbo, jurbo, croker and Garrick offer nothing in attack.

And somebody who I haven’t addressed in my criticism tonight. The Preacher. This guy is the biggest sham in our forward pack, IMO. He puts in the odd decent performance here and there, but is too often MIA. He is no pack leader and takes up too much salary for poor return. I can’t believe we extended him. Dumb move, IMO.
We don’t have the bench forwards. As soon as Lodge and Paseka go off we go nowhere and our backs can’t get into the game and utilise their speed. I’d be offloading Aloia and Sippley and Croker and sign lodge and I’m not sure what to do with Jake?

Jake needs to go into prop rotation on a reduced contract, and needs to work on his speed and go back to an offload game. If he is not capable of meeting those needs, then should be moved on, IMO.

I hope when people move past the disappointment of tonight, they see this season for what it was - improvement (in almost every area) both on and off the park.

Talau was a real highlight. Completely exceeded expectations. I thought Simpkin when given the opportunity sped our ruck up, and I'd love to see more of him. But Hopoate - what an absolute pleasure to watch this kids development - with us thank you very much!!

All things considered, I'm hoping we mostly come out of this season happily as a community. There's lots to grow from here now.

Looking forward to Caleb Navale next season. Possibly Jake Arthur if he hasn't signed elsewhere (in a Lawton type role). Be very interesting to see who stays and goes. Also he interesting to see how Jazz Tevanga goes.

Siebold definitely gets props. Our roster seems connected. Plugged in. Committed.

Thanks for the entertainment this year Silvertails. And the patience with me !. Particular thanks goes to the most beautiful woman alive @NREagle who didn't get cross at my GameDay tantrums haha.

See you all next season. We should really celebrate the season that's past. There are 11 other teams fans that didn't have as much reason as us to be plugged in tonight !

Go Manly !

Great to hear from you Ryan after a bit of a hiatus. Hope you’re doing well, and hope you are feeding Woodsie while you keep him tied up in your basement. 😉👍

Excuse the self post response... But, if I can get just 10 sausage roll eating numpties to recognise this, why does our upper echelons and coaching staff not see it? Are we all just hopelessly delusional? Are we blind?

My god, I hope Koula and the team learn something from that dumbass opening tackle tonight. Why we persist in this stupid myth that we somehow need to work ourselves up into an emotional frenzy in final matches …. Dumb. Stay cool, calm and centred

I thought it'd be tough, yet I also thought we'd were a real chance of winning this.

didn't expect to get 40 put on us.

Hopefully lessons learned for next season. (sigh)
I’m still trying to process how stupid our strategy and execution was, Global. Are we really that dumb?

I probably am but I dunno about those professional players with the benefits of experienced halves, 3-4 coaches, a video review specialist, etc.

I'm hoping.... hoping it was a case of some young'uns who will get better, an off night, strategic 6 agains/penalties given to the rorters, atkins being a f-wit.... and some tweaks manly just has to do.

But seriously, how do you put in such a **** show on such a big occasion, even as an inexperienced junior???

And yes, the Atkins and officiating **** show taken into account.

Honestly, I don't know. I guess this is why there are sports psychologists.

I can't analyse it too much as I've only finished watching it 20 mins ago and whilst I want to run around screaming the cardboard box I live in down, it clouds judgement.

It's much easier to accept Koula's amazing try from last week then to look at the team who seemed to struggle getting out of first gear.

As we don't know all the ins and outs (injuries, etc) I think we're left with the option of reading Kipling's "If".

I know they didn't want to go out and lose, it just happened.
