Cartwright

He is Lewis Browns replacement. And considering what he has gone through in his personal life with his ex partner, I’m surprised he is still playing football. If he comes cheap I’m happy for him to be here
Google Api and his first wife!

Bryce's former squeeze was way in his past.
He had moved on and had a family with another woman by the time he left the Riff.

Manly must be getting a great deal to take on such a high maintenance player 😕

For fks sake.
Our defence is brittle, at best, and we are thinking about signing the worst defender in the NRL.
On top of Bazs master gameplan of playing defensive grinding footy, that gifts the ball to the opposition regularly.
No no no no.

My take is this
Is he worth taking a risk ?
Fcking oath
Why ?
Because he is a talent . He has more skill than any of our forwards can dream of . He is a game breaker .
Like most people in life he needs to get into a good head space and get his passion back to do what he does best .
Bryce is taking Lewis Browns spot I believe . I also believe Lewis Brown is one of the worst signings in the history of our great club .
Bryce is worth a shot

We can always send him out to Blacktown so his career goes basically full circle...

Anyway, back to my original post - why am I always right..?

He was on my wish list a few years ago along with Latrell Mitchell. Worth a shot provided the price is right. If he regains his form it adds badly needed creativity.

I’m sorry more than any of our forwards can dream of? Do you not realize Jake Trbojevic plays for us?

I would never ever swap a Manly boy in Jake for any fwd in the NRL. But i think what Bozo was alluding to was that in terms of x-factor fwds we don’t have anyone including Jake that can break a game open. Siro is the only one that comes to mind but keeping him on the park is very hard. Jake needs another fwd that can take the line on and get the ball to Tom as defences know the Jake to Tom offload inside out and shut it down too easily.

I can see why some ppl would take a chance on him but boy those non-efforts in defence he dished up shows me enough to say he has bigger problems to deal with. Atm especially with out cap problems we cannot afford to take risks on players like this. That minimum wage could go to a young development player that might not have as much potential but at least does his job. We carried Jacko in our 30 even though we weren’t going to play him considering the injury toll we had. Can’t have this problem again next season.

According to reports even Barrett is apprehensive at signing him and we know the soft spot he has for misguided young players and ex panthers. Probably still recovering from the Jacko nightmare he went through

I believe its his uncle not dad... ive just been informed its going to be announced soon from a reliable source. Could be a great signing if he can get his best form back he is a potential origin star. Worth a gamble in my opinion. I also believe he wont be breaking our bank as titans will cover a large portion of his contracy
Ben is his grandad.

Hoss is his uncle.

It’s a toss up between Adam and Little Joe as to who his father is.

We are collecting a team of ego driven players with poor work ethics on the basis of potential with no thought to team culture. It’s a recipe for disaster.
It could work if a stronger, more experienced coach than Barrett was in charge,Maguire for example

I’m not sure I can see the upside in this. He is reportedly on 800k rising to close to one million over the course of the four year deal. Even with the Titans contributing it would still require significant contribution from us for the remaining 3 years of his contract.

Bryce had his off field issues and the move to GC was because Brennan was supposedly the only one who get get him back on track due to their relationship. Hasn’t obviously worked and Bryce’s effort on the field has gone backwards. The creativity is hit and miss and the defence is worse.

It seems the nature of rugby league clubs that the ego thinks they are the ones who can get the best out of players where others have failed.

We have some outstanding young edge players in the juniors in Schuster and Trbojevic mk3. They may be ready in 2-3 years but will we be able to be competitive in keeping them given money and places we will tie up here on top of the well documented money tied up in some of our others.

I’d prefer we didn’t go there on Bryce

The kids 23.

X Lane was being touted as lazy, and apparently showing no effort - turned around into a pretty solid footballer.
X Paseka was touted as slow, and too immobile for first grade - developed into a pretty solid footballer
X Brian Kelly was being criticised on many fronts - developed into a very handy footballer
X Curtis Sironen was a cast-off - at Manly become a very important footballer to our team
X Kelepi Tanginoa was unwanted at Parramatta - has turned into a pretty solid footballer

Our clubs starting to have form with turning the fortune of players around 180 degrees. I could see Bryce being another project we could rectify.

Problem is that all the above only had the potential that was yet to be developed.

Whereas Bryce was already a star and let his talents wither over the last 2 years. 😕

If he started playing NRL instead of park touch footie, he would be an asset.

Defensive is a bigger requirement than putting on a few trick shots and for some reason Bryce avoids physical contact of an opponent:nerd:
