Well reading on SMH today, Balmain have a NRL loan at $2.5M ($3M with interest), which is payable in 2021. If they default, then Wests will likely purchase their share and retain ownership.
Whether they return to the magpies, or drop the orange is anyone's guess. Its not like the NE days, it will have been 22 years in 2021. That is a whole generation of supporters.
One thing I imagine, they likely still play some games out of leichhardt oval (unless toddles stup!d stadium plan gets enforced).
