It's funny that Hasler didn't "hit the wall" from back-ended contracts during the 8 seasons he coached us. Also funny he didn't want to leave us in 2011 and only signed with the dishlickers because he feared he wouldn't be offered a new contract, something that was alluded to early in the 2011 season by Graham Lowe before he departed due to ill health. I also find it funny that Hasler had one bad year last year and suddenly the game has passed him by. Hasler had a plan and after the 2011 GF declared we would go back to back. No way the Gifty debacle would have erupted had Hasler been there and fundamentally that debacle was the catalyst for our implosion from late 2014 onward and we have not yet recovered from that. The dog has a strategy which anyone coach could use but it cripples a club. His strategy is to go on the market and buy good players using back ended contracts to lure them. He did it to Manly and now he's done it to the dogs. If the strategy works you might win a comp before the back ended contracts kick in and you're hailed as a super coach, if it doesn't work you don't win a comp people start asking questions and when the back ended contracts kick in you end up being sacked and the club is crippled as the Dogs are now.
Bring back Hasler and we will win the comp in 2020.
