Blast from the past !!!

Manly's Greatest Comeback vs. Penrith Panthers, Rd 12 2005
Thanks Bozo, really enjoyed watching that.
At the same time, made me a little sad watching Watmough carve up. He was so bloody good but I still shake my head as to how the end of his career with us played out. He was a Manly legend, adored by the faithful and would have been a 300+ game player for us. Hopefully time will heal old wounds...

Choc busted his body for Manly . He was a spirited player and gave it all for us. It is a shame how spite splits people up and as you say lets hope time heals old wounds .

More great pics from the past over the last week - check them out if you haven’t seen them!

I personally like the team pic of 1973 premiership team outside the SCG Members (pre game). You can feel the nerves and tension!
What a great team that was.
The 1973 Two try match winner was none other than the Incomparable Immortal .

Interesting short review of Manly's switch from white jersey in 1984 to the maroon 1987 jersey. Apparently the maroon jersey first appeared in a few games in 1984, then in 1985 went to maroon jersey fulltime. The maroon jersey photo has Alan Thompson, so it must be a 1984 game not 1985.

So did Manly not have an alternate maroon jersey in 1976 to 1983?

This must be the 1984 alternate maroon as the badge has NSWRFL on it and there is a white V neck unlike 1987. All clubs were NSWRL badges by the end of 1984 finals.

This is 1986 card of Crusher so the photo would be 1985.

You are right mate . Just looking at the link and it was played at Brookie with a great crowd of 19, 657 and that sounds like near capacity . Bozo did score a try but we won the match by goal kicks . I am not sure if that is Mark Willoughby in the photo with Bozo . Maybe another feathered friend can help us ?
Thanks for reliving the golden moments from the past . Great work !
Good crowd but nowhere close to capacity in those days. Ground record was 27,655 from a 1986 game against eventual premiers Parra (and they haven’t won one since LOL)
