Ben Condon

Upon his new deal with Souths

Is never going to get a start with us so yes SL a much better option , he’ll be successful there as the quality of most teams is about NSW cup.

Their consistently top 2-3 are on par with our teams but not in the top 2 standard.

Yes they’d win WCC games but much of that was due to that game being the first of the year for the Aussie sides and being played in zero or minus conditions ( believe me I’ve done two of them and it was ****ing freezing ).

Pretty sure it was Scott Fulton. Bloody thank God we got rid of him.
I think he was a mid year (2023) signing, after Fulton had already been moved on and started weaving his magic at Wests’ Tigers (Shawn Blore says ‘Hi!’).

Condon is ok, he cops a lot of undeserved criticism. He looked like a goer on the occasions I saw him in first grade.

Wishing him the best of luck at Leigh.

Guess that the signing [ or player swap ] with that Cowboy "s young forward will offset Condon leaving .
Condon most likely on the lower tier salary range but would have thought Paulo on a bit more .
So should be a bit of a net gain salary cap wise .
Always good to get closer to be in a position to attract talent in a couple of positions but just not sure if they are out there and at a reasonable cost .
And if any short term savings are going to be needed just to largely maintain the remaining squad grouping .

Looks like the clubs making the right moves..
Picking up Large and Walsh covers for the loss of a couple of promising "juniors" who left.
The news on Paulo and Condon moving on with the young Cowboys second rower coming over works as Paulo is surplus to the team and we don't need any more outside backs.
I'm happy with the Lodge situation, happy for him to stay at what the clubs offering but equally happy if he walks and I see his point in doing so.
I think the club will sign a prop and wouldn't be suprised if it's RCG, I would say this is also the reason why they are holding firm on Lodge offer.
Personally I would be looking at a hooker and the young Brisbane Broncos reserve grade player would be my pic, I would even move GCKT or Simpkins on to make this happen.

Let's see what Tony has up his sleeve, to me so far he's shown his a winner and demands success which is a good thing.
He seems ready and more importantly able to make the hard calls.

When negotiating with Lodge it's helpful to be able to say we're also negotiating with Siua and vice versa.

As for Siua, a few years ago when he was at his peak and a grand-final-winning starting prop Rothfield put out an absurd guesstimate costing of all the current Chook stars to 'prove' how they legally fitted in the cap ...he had Siua at $250k which was hilarious for such a good player.

But 6 years later I'd rate him as train and trial or else similar to deal to Lodge.

All while getting to wear some of the zestiest jerseys in rugby league history. Talk about win-win!

Got the better of me, had to look up the jersey and zestiest is the word!
Although I'd be cautious if my new owner gets around dressed like their owner above 👆🏻
