Imagine if you had just played a game of footy, lost but tried your guys out. Then had a one of the juniors come to you after the game and tell you the things you did wrong and what they would have done if they were playing.

You can imagine wow you would react if it happened a number of times and if the player saying it too you challenged you.

If this was any workplace or team in the country the junior member would be thrown out to the curb.

This is consistent with the stories I have heard about Jacko.
But doesn't seem crime of the century stuff.
One would think that it could have been dealt with by adequate counselling.
However, it seems to have been the same issue that has arisen over the years

There was a very well known actor who would give notes to the cast after every performance of every play he was in. Imagine what that was like! And the audience was never any the wiser because the actors were professionals. Same should apply here.

There must be a lot of posters on here that don't fit in to their surroundings, with their peers or normal life in general because nothing else could explain the favouritism or love for a player that has never consistently shown first grade ability and has been ostracised by his peers everywhere he has graced. Either that or they have no idea about a sporting team environment.

This is not a workplace where you suffer ass^oles for the sake of your salary, these guys, by and large, are not the most professionally-thinking workers.

It's a group of high-level, mostly immature sportsmen of ranging backgrounds, levels of thought, tolerances and bias that NEED to gel/combine to be anywhere near the value of the sum of their parts.

To level our own life experiences as a gauge in an area of ZERO knowledge/experience is as worthless as a sock full of water.

It's simple in REALITY, Hastings is a f^ckup and doesn't belong in a NRL FG team and the guys making the decisions know it and have made the.appropriate decisions.

This will not be the last club he is booted from because he has shown the same level of denial as his oblivious fans and supporters here.

Truth is a relative concept fellow old comrade. So is perception. One man's fish is another man's poisson (excuse the French). I don't know enough to make a final judgement on whether Hastings deserves what he cops or not, but in the end this is a business and in business you don't waste an asset, no matter what you think of it personally. Fine him, suspend him for a few weeks, but don't penalise the team by completely closing the door on an asset that just may help you win. Sack him at the end of the year, not now. Use him while you've got him. He doesn't lose anything by playing in the Reggies, other than his pride. Still gets paid. Meanwhile Manly are losing because they don't have someone who can effectively handle the position that he can. Manly is the loser in this issue not Hastings.

If that’s true and that’s the main issue with jacko it proves again our inept and lacking of leadership our coaching staff are.

That just sounds like a passionate kid who needs to be coached and mentored on how to control that emotion to fit in with the team dynamics.

A good/leader or coach can do identify and do that. It’s leadership 101. Sadly This is one of
The many areas Trent Barrett is clearly lacking in.

Then the tool had the hide to whinge at the NRL for not allowing a development player.

Well chump you left yourself wide open for that when you went on record as saying a player in the 30 man squad wouldn’t be considered again this year and our CEO who we all had great hopes for is asleep at the wheel allowing this to happen.

Someone contact Scott Penn and ask him if it’s still a results driven business or does Barrett have softer Key Performance indicators than Toovey had in 2015.

Whether it’s business, sport or military leadership is leadership same skills all required to bring out the best in individuals and the collect group.

Sadly in our club it’s sadly lacking from the top all the way to coaching staff.

Barrett put the noose around his neck over the handling of this dispute and the likely hood is that both he and Hastings will be gone from our club by seasons end. Shame cause the my way or the highway attitude has really killed this season and that attitude comes right from the owners, to the CEO, to the coach, to the captain and the rest of the team. All the good work from last season has been destroyed by this!!

Des is the only replacement. I don’t like outsiders coaching the club it’s failed every time but I would consider Bennett but I don’t think he would touch manly with a ten foot barge pole due to our back office. We have the nucleus of a contending squad we are a good 5/8 a fast defensively sound outside back and one or two back rowers short of what is needed to be a top 4 side.

A good coach would take tom and jake to another level and as would a good 5/8 help Daly. Look how good he was last year with green there to take the pressure off. Love hodko’s guts and determination but his body is holding him back.

It seems today Action Jackson was the difference between the two teams, with the Blacktown Workers beating Illawarra 20 - 12. Hastings kicked four goal. The Dragons didn't kick one.

Who knows whether Hastings deserved his fate . Probably never know.

The bigger issue is that Barrett selected a top 30 with Hastings as the back up hooker and only other kicker in the whole squad while he was in mediation with him about long term behavioural issues over his time at the club which could blow up at any time.The fact that one game Croker was already nailed down as 5/8 suggests the relationship was shot. Yet no changes to top 30 makeup before the cutoff in March. Would have cost 30 or 40k to elevate Fainu.It’s just plain stupid but hardly surprising.
