Long hard season . He will see plenty more action . Moving on , with marty on the move next season and surely morgan boyle he seems suited to slotting in up front in the faster game, off the bench, so be helpful if either keppie or paseka increased there impact/presenceNot forgotten in my view but he is 5 games into his Manly career.
Plenty of time

Huge prospect but probably 3years awayProbs means Samuela - the biggest fainu pup - still coming through the grades
Yeh true - at least a couple years away, but looks the goods.....him and Latu stay healthy and focused, we will have at least 2 x Fainu at Manly come 2025....futire looks pretty damn bright mate.Huge prospect but probably 3years away
No disagreement there, but I really liked what I saw with Tuilagi on Sunday. Good pick-up for 2023.if davey gets dropped or benched we are a weaker team. he is a specialist back rower in that he has size, mobility, grunt in everything he does. not overly damaging with the ball yet, but i reckon that will come because he will find more gaps and half breaks as this season goes on because he challenges his opposition every play
i hope he gets an extension even with tuilagi coming across.
I like that idea for Bully too. Spencer Leinu and Moses Leota are going great for the Panthers ruck speed with similar bodies and leg speed. If Ethan put on those 3-5kg's he showed in Brisbane colours, he could churn out some good metres and produce a decent line break in that simpler role.Long hard season . 100%!As I said in another thread I like him and he reminds me of Shane Rodney who we got good value out of.
its been a long time since I could say his @jbb/james but I agree he gives our pack some much needed reslience.if davey gets dropped or benched we are a weaker team. he is a specialist back rower in that he has size, mobility, grunt in everything he does. not overly damaging with the ball yet, but i reckon that will come because he will find more gaps and half breaks as this season goes on because he challenges his opposition every play

I agree with your pack Cam, although if Shoey is available this week, maybe Walker starts at 13 and Josh on bench?its been a long time since I could say his @jbb/james but I agree he gives our pack some much needed reslience.
I think it means Jakey moves in to front row.
I think our best starting pack is
8 Jake
9 croker
10 Garlic sauce
11 Schmole
12 Davey
13 Shoey (hes got size and the ball skills 13 has become a 3rd play maker)
bench
Walker
Marty
Paseka
Lawnton
And the strip in the other one, but the head high was obvious . It seems they see what they want to seeMay have been mentioned in game thread (haven’t read it) but seriously don’t how ref and bunker missed the obvious head high hit on Davey as he was attempting to ground the ball in the first disallowed try . Bunker only focused on whether he grounded the footy or was held up. Good on Davey for not staying down anyway.
Someone will probably take this the wrong way; I apologize up front if you do.1 thing with Davey is your gunna get reliability and 100% effort every time he plays....maybe not an amazing strike player, but the bloke fans respect and his team mates admire
Agree. And that’ll give Des the chance to use Bullemor or Ben T off the bench and get some game time. With the short turnaround this week I wouldn't mind seeing Davey rested ...
It's a long season and I'm not sure his body and condition are NRL hardened as yet ...
Agreed. I don’t want to go off too early (but I will anyway). Could he become our next BK?Someone will probably take this the wrong way; I apologize up front if you do.
I was thinking about how Andrew Davey plays, and the only thing that stuck with me was.....he plays like a man.
Not a caricature of a man, or someone's all-inclusive definition, ..............he just seems to play 'manfully'. Perhaps the term had a greater, more positive significance once.
The sort of guy who would quietly say, "I'll do it" - and then lead the charge into the face of overwhelming opposition. And then not talk about it afterwards. Not a showboat, but someone who can be depended upon to put 100% (as you say, @maxta ) into everything.
Maybe I'm just looking through maroon and white eyes, hoping he's going to be our next Terry Randall for the next five years. Might be a stretch, but it would be great to have the next TR in our current side.
Davey seems to have the attitude, that's for sure - I hope he stays injury-free for a long time.
Certainly leads by example, bit to late to become our next BK though. Would of loved to have Davey with us at 27 or 28, anyway, it is what it is, and I'm enjoying watching his tough brand of footy with us.Agreed. I don’t want to go off too early (but I will anyway). Could he become our next BK?
Would have loved him in the side last season. We missed that style of playerCertainly leads by example, bit to late to become our next BK though. Would of loved to have Davey with us at 27 or 28, anyway, it is what it is, and I'm enjoying watching his tough brand of footy with us.
