Aloiai Gone

Good to see he is still living rent free in the usual suspects heads on here.

The bloke has busted his body for the club forcing him into potential retirement, meanwhile some on here are typing their comments with their greasy dorito covered fingers laying into him because he didn’t buy into their woke ideologies.

Great clubman and great bloke, he has contributed immensely to the club, and his teammates have him in high regard.

I don’t care about his stance on pride, but he’s just an average middle of the road prop that is perpetually injured and overpaid, so see ya later. Nothing personal.

Might be back again in 26, still being paid ( if he doesn’t get a medical retirement ), so not only overpaid , paid for doing nothing as well.

Absolutely correct. It's rather ironic that he's hated by many. I thought he served us well.

Let’s hope that means he is gone and we’ve got the medical retirement. I’ve always been underwhelmed by his contribution. I reckon you could count on one hand the number of games where he has made an impact. I’d like think his money could be better spent elsewhere.
Made a massive impact in the jersey gate round.

Oh you meant positive impact. My bad.

It's an interesting comment "the bloke has busted his body for the club"

While it is true, It's actually his job to put his body on the line and he got paid $500k to $600k a year to do so. The reality is, his body broke down and that's on Josh and his decision to choose league as an occupation.

To be clear I didn't mind Aloiai as a player and stuck up for him on here regularly. But let's not pretend he is a hero or anything.

Heavens above, you are completely obsessed with the whole woke thing. How do I know?

I have you on ignore. Didn't even realise I had you on ignore and no recollection why or even that you existed for that matter.

A thing comes up which says 'you are ignoring content by this member' which tweaked my interest about who I had on ignore. I didn't think I'd blocked anyone.

So how do I know that this is your obsession? Because you never pop up with the ignored member thing in any other actual footy related thread. Never.

Guessing you're an anti-gay, anti-immigration, anti-vax sovereign citizen.

You might want to think about contributing to footy discussion on a footy forum. Just a thought. I'll have no way of knowing cause you're back on ignore, baby.

Actually Oshay Olay's body was pretty busted before he broke his contract at the tigpies for more $$$ at Manly ... for me he has been underwhelming for the dollars ... he is not alone there .... I would like to see him get a medical retirement for himself and the club .... he has had so many bad injuries, not just the chronic shoulder dislocations - (I know that one from experience most debilitating and depressing), he had a major wrist injury at the start of his balmain career, -
"It dragged on for a little while, and it had been about 18 months since I had a functional wrist," Aloiai told Sporting News.

"I broke my scaphoid, got a screw in it, but the screw broke off and moved into my wrist so I had to get some other surgeries.

"I ended up getting a rib graft done, where they grab some rib and some cartilage and use it to reconstruct your scaphoid and your wrist."

and a number of knee injuries before breaking down in a test match for Samoa at the beginning of his contract with Manly.

Had a series of real strong games , partly during that 21 and 22 seasons from recollection but would not be surprised at all if he has barely played half of all club fixture games since joining Manly and that is not taking into account this year
Could be a bit out with his availability situation but then in many games that he was available he was regularly playing with strapping so even then , obviously still had some injury issues
Almost on par with Nate Myles 's poor value for money but at least in Josh"s case , generally tried to put in a whole hearted effort
Probably could shown more of a compromise outlook during Pride Gate and actually got the group of dissenting players prepared to play but past history now
Looks like some entities for whatever reason are making it slightly difficult enabling him to get a medical retirement .
Certainly not helping Manly 's cause right now or for the near future and with him so prone to injury and the very unlikely prospect of him being able to be fully match fit again , guess to assist Manly 's future planning , the sooner that it can be resolved the better of course

TKO is more effective than him , comes at half the cost and plays every game.

People probably forget TKO was close to best prop in the game when Roosters went back to back. He doesn't bring that level of performance now but he knows what it's like to dominate and has been pretty effective. Other than Bullymore our only successful recruit in a long line of plodders.

At 600k he has been a big impost in salary cap for average performances while getting on the field 50 percent of the time. My other issue with him was crucial errors in big moments.

Nothing personal as don't know the bloke but having him on the books at 600k next year barely playing while trying to build a forward pack that suits the modern game is a nightmare.

My gut feeling is he will be in our roster for 26 even if he doesnt play a game. Cant see manly paying him out to free up cap space or roster spot. Its the Manly Way

Pretty hard for forwards to dominate when your halfback kicks on 3rd , wont challenge the line , and throws speculators all day . If its good for the goose

Forwards and halves need to be on the same page and they are not

you want your forwards to be gritty but it cant be sustained unless the game is managed well. TBH our forwards provide enough platform in games early for us to capitalise but possesion is treated with disdain . They are not world beaters but better than many make out

When turbo was playing halfback fullback and loose forward in 21 , even keppie was decent

Its a team game and if everyone does there job , not a job, but there job

Don't we have to pay him out even if he is medically retired?, it just frees cap space.

we can retire him and pay him out with NRL approval
But then we have to spend his 600k twice and i dont feel confident that will get approval from within so if we keep him on the books he will just be like schuster, morgan boyle, snake, matai etc and still on the cap

Just my gut feeling based onwatching mestrov and co spend manlys player allowance from penn
