All we are saying, is Pearce off !

I reckon he’ll stay, Uncle Nick will offer a million dollar upgrade over 2 years.

I could sit on the bench for $1.4 Million a year, in fact I could sit on the sidelines for that!

Very true Mark. But then you arent a top of the line first grade rugby league player aspiring to fame during your best years. Money is important, but he's spent a life time of hard work and sacrifices to reach this level, and he can still get that elsewhere...though perhaps for not as much.

But its a pride thing Pearce will be facing. Does he want to fade in the next two years as a substitute, with almost no chance of SOO selection and losing the adulation of his many fans and potential fans to come. He could sit out the two years and then move, but he'll lose his value and if he just grumps and does the basics, his future worth will be less.

I think sticking with the club he knows will be a big factor and yes Mark I suspect the chances of him staying are high. But leaving with the assurance of a new start and full game participation (which all footballers at that level want), may give a strong chance of him leaving. I think its about 60/40 he'll stay, about 20-30% he'll sign with Manly. But the latter is rising I think.

All good points I guess, and you are possibly right but only if the Rorters actually let him go, they could after all, dig their heels in.

If Pearce decides he wants out, the Roosters would be wasting $800,000 plus extras on a player who doesnt want to play ball and could end up in the reggies. Few clubs would be wiling to throw such money away just to play hard ball. If he decides he wants to go, they'll make it hard for him, but they'll let him fly. Same with Moylan at Penrith. How many top draw players can you recall really wanting out in recent years, being stopped by their respective clubs?

Snake. Matai. Um... @:D

Could be just giving the impression of playing hard ball to avoid paying any significant freight if Junior does eventually depart the club . The Roosters management has virtually given a vote of no confidence in Junior"s leadership capability "s with Cronk"s signing . so still is going to be difficult for Pearce to come to terms with . Maybe he will be compelled to stay but you would think that quite a bit of damage has already been done with any Roosters . Pearce ongoing harmony and goodwill .

Pragmatically, the best fit for us would be Maloney because of his goal-kicking. He also is a specialist five-eight. Maloney will play for anyone, if the price is right.

Personally think that Moylan can offer slightly more to Manly then Pearce as well as Moylan being a reasonable goal kicker . I wonder if the Panthers or Gould can actually enforce this supposed transfer fee for Moylan , this seems to be the sticking point but with the Barrett connection you would still think that Manly would be Moylan"s first preference if he does become available .

I'll be happy with Maloney for 2 years. He is one of the best kickers in the comp that will get us over the line in tight games. We really need a good goal kicker if we want to win big games next year. Moylan or Maloney for mine.

Rothfield tweeted he thinks Pearce will be the next signing for the Sharks whilst Massoud mentioned on Seven news tonight that they have 800k left under the cap and will target him next.

I guess this could make sense given both of their salaries would cancel each other out, so if they had spare cash before it’s still be there.

Moylan will be on more than 500k at the sharks. 500k was BBQ's price. So there is no direct $ swap as far as I can tell.
However, if Moylan brings his existing TPAs to the sharks, then maybe buzztool has a leg to stand on.
