All Premiership Winning teams are built on Consistent Performing Quality players

We will need a Rocky style performance in Gladstone , the Titans looked pretty good last night BUT the Donkeys were the worst I’ve seen them in years.

That’s the trouble with this Comp ( for whatever reason ) inconsistency reigns supreme.

One week on fire, next week getting flogged ( by a team who got flogged the previous week).

The only consistent teams to date.

Warriors / Dragons.....good
Raiders / Eels.....terrible

And important to note our two wins have been against the bottom two sides.

Sadly that doesn’t exactly inspire me!

It was a thing of beauty to see how seamlessly Uate slotted straight into the 'whipping' boy role after Lewis had been demoted. A work of art.

Correct , and this goes back to my original post that states consistency in performance is what defines the good teams and the good players against the average ones.

Also what concerns me is we can only play one style of Footy which involves alot of offloads/2nd phase football. When its wet and offloads get taken away Manly can't adjust to that style of play which is real concerning..

The salary cap is stupid. It restricts clubs to selecting the 30 players they have nominated pre-season. Thus, someone who is worthy of a start that is currently not in the 30 can't be selected.
Surely there should not be a mandatory 30 players rule. If a club can get 40 players under the cap then why shouldn't they be allowed?
Injuries impact on clubs more than ever, and with a limited roster it is easy for clubs to "run out of players" in particular positions.

In our first loss to the Knights our ball control and ill discipline played a big part to lose us the game . Five rounds later we saw players run down from behind and dropping the ball with the line wide open . We saw players play the ball facing the wrong side of the field . We saw players out of their depth being continually selected. etc etc
Todays game against the Titans was again marred by a comedy of errors by our players and our coach and the more disciplined Titans had the last laugh

Injuries have meant we have to pick some players who are lucky to be reserve grade standard. Compare the 17 we had to those when we beat Doesn'tmatta 54-nil. You can't have consistency when there are so many forced changes.
I will say, though, that the time is right to promote some youth. Better to try someone with promise than others you know are not up to standard.

Yeap agree with all. Never ever would mark carroll, jason king come out with crap like tapau did.
There a flakey football team who play pretty footy off offloads. No one does the hard stuff

It is not just consistency, I see not one forward in the pack that is intimidating. Take Randall, Watmough, Ward, Carroll, Gillespie and Gibbs. All won premierships, they had that mongrel.Should have bought Graham. Kapow has it in spurts but not consistent.

Tough teams win comps.

Watmough and Stewart terrorised teams for almost ten years. Constantly hurting opposition sides legally.

I always say, the dirtiest side wins the comp each year under the modern rules.

Although forced changes is a challenge to a team there are many examples of depleted teams that have overcome forced changes and continue to win by playing discipline footy with good ball control. |
No team can win if they have consistent ball control issues by continually turning back the ball to the opposition and butchering tries with the line wide open.
I believe if Hasting played 5/8 and if we didn't butcher tries and dropped balls that stalled our momentum and played more consistent disciplined footy we would have beaten the Titans .
In the end the only thing consistent about our game on Sunday was our consistent ill discipline play and the consistent poor team selections from our coach .
Croker is off and what does Trent do ?
He takes Api the specialist hooker and moves him into the halves and brings on a better option halves player with a superior kicking game in Hasting into hooker .
When we lose we don't learn anything by focusing on excuses . We take responsibility from our loss and focus on things we can do better . That's what makes a better team

The biggest problem I see is one of our main recruits I noted the smiles and not give a **** attitude - Martin tapau.
He a 1 in every three week star outside of that gets manhandled by fringe first graders but when critics on social media take to him he has a dig.
Imo he not player to lead us to top 4 consistency I beginning to see why tigers pissed him off. He does not care enough I be happy not to have him culture wise not good for club.
