Alfred

Hi all , no power ,phone , internet since 11pm.

Alfie came straight at us , made landfall over Stradbroke Island which is straight across from where I live , we had the eye ( a big lull for about 20 minutes ) go over around midnight.

Then it did a right hand turn and went north so we copped the nasty tail.

No damage , **** loads of rain ( and still coming down ).

Coming to you via my Starlink system run by a little generator, couldn’t miss the game.

I’ll just be watching in the phone.
U copped an eye full of Alfie. And now have a story to tell.

Hope U watched the game tonight at a club Marky Mark.

I've been keeping an eye on a few webcams (cyclone related ya perverts) and noticed this one on...Tweed Valley way (sth of kingscliff) has had these 3 cars in it overnight.

Again - with all the 2 million warnings not to drive into flood water....here we go! Get a brain 'morans'.

I realise why I'm not in a rescue organisation because people would run up to me saying "My moronic family member went swimming in the cyclone surf even though they know they aren't supposed to. Heeeeelp!"

Me: "Ah well...if they swim to the shore they'll be right. I'm not risking my life for an A grade idiot. Buh Bye!"

Got lucky yesterday, power came back on 45min before the start. Talk about cutting it close. What a win, thank you guys for turning our street on.

My brother in Brisbane spotted a sign

"To all the panic buyers, please stock up on condoms so you don't breed anymore f**king idiots!"

Missed game Saturday night, Jacobs Well has been flooded in until today. Still no power, phone or NBN. Lucky roads are now open so can Re supply, re charge phones etc.

Managed to hear results on car radio Sunday morning.

Great win by sound of things looking forward to watching replay.

I thought all the panic buyers still had years worth of dunny paper left from covid

I once had so much i built a fort in the lounge room for nerf wars

Everything i had stax off went up in Price overnight, almost double so it ended up like timeshare

Wiping my ass in 2023 on 2020 prices. Really cleaned up

Still no power at Redland Bay, nor phone / internet , luckily I have my Starlink running off my little generator . I put it on an hour in the morning , an hour at night , BUT 2 hours Saturday night to watch the game on my phone.

Heaps of food thrown out, now living out of an esky.

They are saying , maybe Friday night , most likely Sunday night for us , if it’s Sunday that’s 10 days without power.

No , it’s NOT, fun

My daughter lost half her back yard and they still have no power, albeit they have a generator for the fridges and lights.

Outside of Toowoomba with the grand total of roughly 28mm of rain. However we can't get supplies as the highway is still cut down in the Lockyer Valley area! Such a weird thing, stores stripped bare but we actually had no "event".

Went without power for one week with Cyclone Debbie in 2017 and even with a generator was hardly fun . Lucky a local pub had power and was able to watch a Manly club game win against the Roosters at the time
Fortunately was just on the fringe in terms of wind effect but an enormous amount of rain including one 12 hour stint of 950 mil on the coast in my area and 100 mil more in the hinterland .
Some parts of the region had never experienced such high water levels , at least since records were kept . A couple of instances of cars and deceased cattle in tree branches
Always just seems so unpredictable with cyclones on how they form and what intensity and where they eventually end up , on the Queensland coast anyway
