Tin mining 3-4 millennia ago along south coast of British isles. They were the first Mediterranean traders to the British Isles before the Greeks crossed France via the river systems starting at Marseilles and had a go. The Phoenicians dominated trade in the western Mediterranean for centuries and were the only ones trading outside of the Pillars of Heracles. Tin was imperative in making bronze implements and the Southern Brit Isles had a ton of it. There were a lot of Phoenicians trading there and a lot of hanky panky its said.
For those unfamiliar with the Phoenicians, they originally occupied city states on the coast of the Levant around today's Lebanon. Several of today's coastal west European cities were established by them including Cardiz, Cartagena, Malaga, Palermo and maybe Barcelona. They also established Lisbon on the Atlantic coast in Portugal. And of course we cant forget Carthage
