All depends on how highly regarded and how much we want tokeep Albert and how good his recovery has been.

The kid is coming back from the most serious knee injury you can get, has no training base underneath him, has very little experience playing outside of his age group against men, has no lower grade stuff to get match fitness back into his legs, and people think it’s a great idea to throw him to the Wolves straight into first grade ?

Cotric, Thompson (the pom), apparently Jack Bird, Hoppa. $3m can go pretty quickly, particularly when you have to pay above market value. I mean, they are supposedly paying Cotric $600k+ to pay centre (good young player, but completely unproven in the position).

Our salary cap is already very top-heavy. We are not in a position where we can get into a bidding war over a rookie with 0 NSW Cup games, 0 NRL games and 2 knee reconstructions.

If Albert simply wants to go to whichever club offers the most money, then let him.

I too am frustrated with the current state of our team, however I don’t think it’s the best idea to throw a rookie who hasn’t even played a game of under 20s into this team. Particularly considering he has come off 2 back to back ACL injuries.

It might come down to wanting a future at FB and with Tom there he might go just for the opportunity. Not saying the money wouldn't be a bonus but if he is a superstar FB in the making what are we going to do?

Having said that last time with Will Des was leaving so he didn't try to keep him. Maybe there is a plan to move Tom to reduce the amount of ground to cover due to his injuries?

Fingers crossed we can hang on to him and see what the hype is all about.

Yep.. we have only been paying him while being injured. Nursed him through his juniors, by leaving is a big middle finger to the club! Just like will and just like john after telling will to do it! Where does the leave Burbo?

Burbo is a winger/centre (and FB, but Tom is our FB). Watched him in juniors play some excellent footy at Centre and Burbo is a better player than Albert (my opinion, dont flame me lol).

Bringing Will to save Albert is just killing our Salary cap for what I feel is limited value.

Tom at Fullback, Burbo and Suli in Centres then Garrick and Albert on wing.

if Albert walks for sersious cash, then let him. Burbo can play wing and we have Funa who is a promising talent.

We also have the possiblity of moving Walks back to centres (burbo on wing) and Shuey to 5/8 (which is also an exciting option). Although Walks is also arisk of being pinched.

Just need to sign or find some extra depth as Elliot and Parker arnt enough backline depth for injuries (assuming Jorge moves on).

Point is plenty of options if he wants to chase the cash.

If young Hoppa goes I wouldn't blame him. The opportunity of making some serious cash and playing with his brother might too much to pass up. To get a big offer after hardly playing any footy for two years would be irresistible. I consider the retention and development of Schuster as critical and number one priority for Manly at the moment. I hope young Hoppa stays but it is unlikely.
