If Hodkinson can get medical clearance that his body will hold , then a one year signing of an experienced organizer and kicker does not sound that idiotic does It ?

Are we planning on making the finals and improving? DCE will be smashed at least Green offered the occasional threat at the line Hodko won't.

Nice that you read them princess. You don't like my posting I don't think much of your boring Blacktown updates hell maybe that's why you want to sign Hodko so he can play for Blacktown. Simple really we have missed the bus so we go with what we have Hastings get's first shot hell I would give cust and metcalf a shot beofre Hodko as he is finished unless we want depth for Blacktown.
Aw shucks, don't you like someone disagreeing with you?I love your posts here, laughter is the best medicine....

Ironic you responding to me for having a go at a Hodko signing and somehow that was bagging you. I hope you are not in the recruiting team but you do seem sensitive to any critique of them. hmm I wonder. Maybe put the bong down and do your job. Yep Joe is certainly involved with the club no doubt may be crab fulton? dropped the rating Joe :D

I for one am relieved we did not sign Pearce. I watched Jackson Hastings come on against the Cowboys last year and he has an innate ability to control the speed of play with the ball in his hands. Crisp passes and a very good short kicking game too. I hope he is given every opportunity to cement a spot in our halves.

Not sensitive at all I don't think they have done a good job it's you who doesn't like me saying that so how would that make me sensitive? more like your sensitive. why do you care so much that I and many others don't rate Hodko?

Good point about his speed but if he proves his fitness he does have speed between the ears with his experienced organizing and kicking game .
We don't have an experienced half to partner DCE at the moment

If Hastings,Croker and Cullen are not up to it why were they all signed? we don't need that many when you also have Metcalf and Cust sooner or later 1 of these will have to be tried in first grade and I prefer all of them (to get a shot) over Hodko.

I have never said I don't like you(you ok ),I also have not resorted to name calling either.I am not sensitive to you bagging Hodkinson, but it just reaches a point where you see someone bagging all player signings and eventually you post a comment and then wish you never started the convo.People didn't like the squad we had last year and we went ok,I have faith that this group has some idea.I don't care whether we get Hodkinson,my first choice is Hastings backed up by Lamb, but if not Lamb then Hodkinson.

But how can he get that? His pre-existing medical issues are already well known.
Yes he does have medical issues and a medical assessment on his issues would let us know if he is worth taking a one year risk.

We have a bunch of raw, unproven halves. Getting Hodko in for a year means we can continue to develop the young guns without having to rush them.

As others have said - his kicking game, game management and defence have always been strengths. We need that stability if we're to contend in '08. If his body struggles week to week, give him 60 mins a game with Hastings / Cullen / Croker / Metcalf on the bench. By the end of the year we'll know DCEs halves partner for '09.

I liked some of what Cletus did at hooker when he played there, thought he has something to offer and was surprised he wasn't given more opportunity.

Not sure he is the answer for halfback though, especially with DCE as a partner. But you never know, he might get his stuff together and prove to be the foil we need. Based on the current squad then he would be my first choice, but not with a lot of confidence.

I'm hoping we can sign someone.

I agree with that and I apologize for name calling was not needed and will remember it next time it is a weakness I'm trying to improve on. Once again sorry Joe no hard feelings.
None taken, never came across anything that was worth my time to hold a grudge, have a spit, get over it,forget it and move on.If I held a grudge against everyone who ticked me off it would be a big list....

Why was Hasting and Cullen signed? They were signed on potential and from what the club has seen they don't think they are ready yet . Same as Young Crocker ,Metcalf and Cask. If we sign the experienced Hodko for one year then maybe one or two of those players may be ready for the big League when Hodko leaves
