2027 I’d be extremely confident Galvin will not be in the half’sIf we end up with Brooks and Galvin we're cooked.
When did I say halves?2027 I’d be extremely confident Galvin will not be in the half’s
You didn’t say it, you just insinuated it strongly. What else do you think people are going to assume when you say ‘brooks & Galvin’When did I say halves?
Wouldn't be the first time we've paid overs for a big kid junior masquerading as a half lol.
It would be great if Turbo could be injury-free for the remainder of his NRL career but let's face it, that's not going to happen. Turbo will be known as Manly's version of Tim Moltzen, unfortunately. No doubt with Tedesco and sure like many other Manly fans was really hoping and part expecting that Turbo 's career , just like Teddy 's , could see him overcoming the earlier run of serious injury and then have a relatively injury free career .
Guess that there is some hope [ or maybe wishful thinking ] that with Turbo at 28 or so now , can still turn things around for the remainder of his career but unfortunately can not be a given of course and again if only it could be
Yep i think the loss of Paseka has been perhaps a bit underestimated on here in general. We've gone from a fringe top 4 team, to maybe missing the 8 on the back of that in my opinion (obviously the turbo injury and DCE stuff is a contributor)It blows my mind to have to say this, but we are now in the position where Josh Aloiai - Oshay Olay - is our best front rower. That is not good. Not good at all.
Apparently he is super close to the Bulldogs assistant coach from his time at Westfield sports high school so it’s them or Parra I’m guessing.Parra would be throwing a ton up cash at him, wouldn’t get my hopes up of him coming across the bridge at this stage
Have you not heard of Pappy's injuries? I've not checked the figures but he must have missed close to as many games as Tom over the last 3-4 years. Hughes and Munster have also had their own injury problems. The difference is they have effective backup players.Think that a big factor still has to be just how much value for money clubs can get from their highest paid or premium level type players .
Seems to be a given for instance in the Storm's case with Munster , Hughes , Grant and Pappy regularly performing to a high level and a relative good availability on the injury front .
Then compared with Manly and serious issues with Turbo "s regular unavailability and even when he is playing , hampered by injury .
Jake for all of his commitment and still solid defence , nowhere near his 950 K or so pay grade . D C E on balance and over time , just not warranting his pay packet .
Haumole the only one really justifying his now considerable and elite type contract level .
Mid level guys like Garrick , Tent , Brooks and Koula generally good value for money , Alioia not so of course .
Plenty of other comparisons with other clubs and other considerations with superior junior systems but again in Manly 's case , just have not and continue not to be getting the required value for money out of their main grouping of top tier players
He is a huge out, there is hardly any punch up the middle without him, Bully yes, Aloiai he has been good the last two games, TKO he goes okay, the other middles look at their post contact meters and that will tell you how much aggression they are running with.Yep i think the loss of Paseka has been perhaps a bit underestimated on here in general. Oh please … not another old dude that’s injury prone!I wonder if we might make a play for Kieran Foran next year if he's injury free and well priced? Give him a coaching role when he's done playing?
We could do far worse I reckon.
…. Sounds like he is still there! He’s working on the inside… under cover maybe!Did we get our recruitment guy from Tigers?
Hard to compare the Storm roster to ours, or anyone else’s for that matter. They are far and away the best side in the comp this year and it’s not really close. I would easily take Lehi over Fa’alogo or whoever else they have as Papi’s backup, but that’s not really the point as they still have Munster, Hughes and Grant and are likely to never have 3-4 of them out at the same time. Maybe during origin time or at the end of the year when they are rested, but I doubt they care when they’re winning 90% of their games anyway.Have you not heard of Pappy's injuries? Agree with what you're saying. The key nowadays is to have a good spine ( including a dynamic hooker) and the rest of the team needs to be fit, lean and mobile. The storm do seem to take an average player and make them look like a world beater just because they play well in their system. The same can also be said of PenrithHard to compare the Storm roster to ours, or anyone else’s for that matter. They are far and away the best side in the comp this year and it’s not really close. We have built our roster around the top few players like they have, but Jake and particularly DCE just haven’t been able to produce wins without Tom. That, and their recruitment with the rest of their roster is on another level to ours. While we are chasing slow, old washed up forwards they are signing younger players with potential for unders (Katoa, Stefano, Blore, King) or developing and playing the young guys they already have in their system (Loiero, MacDonald, Kamikamica). We won’t even give someone like Navale a go while players like Waddell and Sipley are playing regular first grade! That’s been the biggest blight on Seibold’s regime so far IMO
They did,but to be fair,he hasn’t been at the club long,so he’s yet to really have an impact, good or bad.He does have a connection with Galvin thoughDid we get our recruitment guy from Tigers?
