2024 GRAND FINAL

For years I've wondered if there was a word or term that describes when you're hoping both teams lose in a 2 team game.

The closest I've come so far is courtesy of AI and, I quote:

"There isn't a widely recognized single word for wanting both teams to lose in a sporting match, but a common phrase used to express this sentiment is "rooting for a meteor." This is often said humorously when someone dislikes both teams and wishes for an outcome where neither can win"

Saw Gordon Tallis on "NRL360" trying to defend NAS and saying he deserved to play so the fans would see the best of the best. He brought up the Cam Smith suspension for the 40-nil grand final, and said it ruined the game as a "spectacle", and that nobody enjoyed watching it.

Pretty sure most Manly fans enjoyed the sh*t out of it, as well as a large percentage of the neutrals…
Hasn't Tallis turned into a w@nker on NRL360. Last night arguing for Kevvie and the Broncos and then saying over and over again. Im a Titan. Im a Titan.

Gorden (anagram for ‘drengo’) is not a smart man.

Presumably he will soon be telling us that everybody enjoyed watching the 1997 GF.

He wouldn’t be the first.

Didn 't realize that Cam Smith was worth 40 or 40 plus points in a G F .
Must have got him confused with Superman but on a serious note a bit delusional if he thinks that Cam could have made a winning difference the Storm 's way in that game
He wouldn’t be the first.😉

Warren Ryan thought along similar lines.

1 of the biggest chances Melbourne had on Sunday, was for the spine was gunna be off the back of big NAS winning momentum with power charges and quick play balls....but fact is, he done the crime so does the time...Tallis is a hypocrite and though he was a strong player, I don't feel he is an accurate commentator and at times very opinionated to the point it gets annoying.

Tbh, I’d just be happy for a root. But probably have more chance in seeing a meteor!
Good to see you on here Bob. How goes the comedy gig/s?
Hello mate, thanks for the note. All's well so hope same goes for you and yours?
Comedy is going well thanks and I'm running a couple of rooms monthly on the Northern Beaches (see my Gig Guide on my website www.bobstevenson.com.au) plus shows at other venues (including performances in 6 different country's in the last 18 months - AUS, NZ, USA, London's West End, 6 nights at 2023 Edinburgh Fringe and 3 nights at the Tokyo Comedy Bar in May this year)
I was in a few shows in Sept just gone for the Sydney Fringe and I'm planning a solo show for the Sydney and Perth Comedy festivals in Apr/May 2025
I've also been doing a bit of work as an extra for the telly and TV commercials (including the soon to be released Bundy Rum ad with Cameron James and Gordy Tallis LOL)
Not bad for a fella with a head for radio.... 🙂

My terminology for it is "sinkhole".
Eg - when Souffs and Parra play each other and my son asks "who do we want to win this game?"
My reply is "sinkhole" ( as in l hope a sinkhole opens up under the ground and swallows both teams and their supporters into the abyss and we'll never see or hear from them again!)

One day....

You are too humble Bob and this is what makes you the great Manly human being that you are .
Keep up your Great work !

Yes a big YAWN. Don't care for either side. Still in a state of despair from last weeks capitulation.

How the hell does Klown get to be the best referee and get the GF gig? Says a lot about the officials this year. I'll be watching unfortunately and praying for a howler of a call from him that ultimately decides the game and gets everyone offside especially Anusley. I'll bet Adam Gee will be too.

Winners should not allow capitulating losers to rewrite our Legendary clubs history
Capitulations does not define our Mighty clubs High benchmark Premiership Winning Standards

1976,
1978,

The NRL's head of football, Graham Annesley, has admitted the bunker incorrectly disallowed a try to Penrith's Sunia Turuva in the preliminary final.

Annesley's assessment comes after Panthers coach Ivan Cleary admitted to "anxiety" surrounding the adjudication of the obstruction rule.

THE MANLY WAY
is not the losing way
That's the Wrong Way !

THE MANLY WAY
It is the Winning way
It is the only way to our Benchmark Premiership Winning Great Standards
And behind every Great Grand final Manly win
There is a Great Manly coach who inspires and lifts his Great Manly Men to Premiership Winning Greatness and Glorifies our Legendary Manly Club

Every Picture Tells a story ....
The Picture of the Pinnacle of Manly Greatness
The Great Bob Fulton being LIFTED by his Great Manly players after he LIFTED them to Another Great Manly Premiership Win
