The longer this goes the more unlikely it will become , I fear we may see the news “ medical retirement “ sooner rather than later.

We certainly miss his defence in the middle, but young Simpkin certainly has a better , faster , crisper pass.

He was in a recent video put out by the club and looked pretty chirpy. He was in training gear and had some light bandaging to his knee. Which leads me to think he has been training. So hopefully he isn’t too far away. If he is available this week it would be timely.

Good point! With Simpkins starting & Lawton as his cover, Croker could definitely play in the halves while DCEs out for SOO.

That story is 3 weeks old. But no sign of him.

I am thinking the same thing Mark, I reckon this will be his last year anyway because of all his head knocks. He will apprehensive when and if he comes back and one more knock could do it for him. His health and family is first and foremost thats for sure but if this does happen, then I hope the club keeps him on in some capacity. He gives it all when he takes the field and thats the type of person we need around the club

Saw him at Brookie a few weeks ago and he was walking the perimeter. He spotted someone in the stands who he seemed to know. They asked him when he was due back and he said, "after the Bye". Now appreciate that was last week but maybe they were targeting this weekend's match and maybe he starts at 6. Regardless the impression I got was that he was expecting to be back this year.

Honestly I think Froggy's neck, and the lack of development shown by GCKT, was a big reason why we went and signed Simpkin.

I just can't shake the feeling that the end of the season is going to see Lachlan Croker medically retired due to a neck injury.

I doubt you’d play and medically retire. If he comes back, you’d have to think he’s back. I can’t see the logic in playing out the season before medically retiring.

He is fitter than I have ever seen him,good ballplayer too,could play as a 13 if needed.
