He would replace Davey, Walker and a few others quite easily. He was fast, mean, tackled hard when he was busted, bled for MWSE, never took a backward step on field. When forwards and 'hard men' from other teams tried to intimidate him he used to laugh at them and try to bate them into whacking him in front of the ref. Classic !

One of the best second rowers we have had at Manly. Some players get to origin and do nothing, but Watmough was great at origin in a side that was usually clobbered by qld. One could argue we wouldn't have got our last 2 premierships without him. Yeah he did go to the eels for a retirement payout but who cares when he played his best years for the eagles.
