C&C i bet collingwood is happy with that assesment and i suppose Trott has been out of form too? Im also not sure when the WACA stopped being part of the venues in Australia.
Lee has 10 @ 20 and is the leading wicket taker for this series and you still think its just PR?
and Shane i think Lee will be well into his 40's before he evolves into a McGrath although he is tighter than he used to be.
I don't have the Ashes stats in front of me but Pryor certainly wasn't topping the averages for the Poms even if he did have Collingwood covered. I never mentioned Trott, so don't see your point ?
My point about the Gabba was that if he isn't going to swing it and deck it around there, he never will. This was in response to my criticism that he doesn't move the ball. The WACA will give him pace and bounce, and yes I would suspect that will help his style. Unfortunately there won't be many WACA's or Gabbas in India during the World Cup. They'll be like Adelaide Ovals, or slower, over there and he didn't go too well there the other day.
Reread my original post, I said Lee's selection as Man of the Match over Hussey at the SCG smacked of PR crap. I still stand by that, Hussey's innings did more to win that game then Lee knocking over a couple of pommy tail enders.
And Shane, I don't "hate" Brett Lee, well not in the same way you hate Brad Haddin anyway. I acknowledge his talent, just think he isn't the answer for this World Cup bid. He has about as much hope of being a Glenn McGrath as Cameron White does of batting at 4 in the Test side.
Anyway let's see how he goes in India. If he carves up I will admit I was wrong, no problem there. I just think that our bowling attack for that tournament is looking pretty fragile, so I hope our batsmen are in form as I can see us chasing some big totals. I'm off to the one dayer tomorrow so I'll get a first hand look at Binga....perhaps he'll change my mind.
