Actually C & C was responding to the figures that were put up for this series.

Not saying Volley doesnt have a point as far as longevity in ODI goes, but C&C was playing what was in front of him.

And Hastings is junk, he must have been in Shanes district too much

Sniped, his 1st class record must have been alright which just proves to me 1st class cricket is nothing but a wank

GO BING LEE!!!
Made the dismissals that mattered

Did anyone else get the distinct impresion
that the aussie bowlers put on that last partnership
for the QLD floods? It seemed a bit fishy when almost
directly after the 6mil was reached that we couldnt get
out 2 noted bunnies....maybe im just paranoid but it
didnt feel right

Didn't watch yesterdays game, but I assuming from the monkeys rattling the cage that Brett Lee actually took a wicket or two in the most quick bowler friendly venue we have. I'd be worried if he didn't get a scalp or two. How many times has he got Matt Prior (the most horribly out of form Pommy bat all summer) out this series ?

All bullsh!t aside, I like Brett Lee, he has definitely been one of our greats. But I really don't think he is the answer for a World Cup bid on the subcontinent. He is past his best, he doesn't have that raw pace to blast out batsmen anymore. And if he doesn't get the ball to move in the air then he is going to be cannon fodder on the flat decks over there.

Lee for the past 3-4 years has been evolving into a new McGrath since his misfired english tour (10 ball over or something to that effect,i thought he was useless with a top speed of 160)

We missed him during the ashes thanks to early retirement due to an elbow injury

Since his slowed down he has gotten alot more accuracy and still quicker than most of our bowlers anyway,a few 150kmh firebolts and consistant 145kmh stock balls compared to our current bowlers, although when theres swing Johnson is a bowling god, unfortunatly he doesnt always gets that and it hurts our team

Your Lee hate reminds me of someone hating on the batting skill of Haddin, but that person was man enough to admit mistake, will you be when Lee tears a few more orders apart or are you anti 30+?

Bull**** aside id love to see Cummins or other young amazing prospect take over that absolute hack Tait

/rant

C&C i bet collingwood is happy with that assesment and i suppose Trott has been out of form too? Im also not sure when the WACA stopped being part of the venues in Australia.

Lee has 10 @ 20 and is the leading wicket taker for this series and you still think its just PR?

and Shane i think Lee will be well into his 40's before he evolves into a McGrath although he is tighter than he used to be.

Unfortunatly Fluffy i agree on the timeline on his evolution into McGrath, his elbow didnt help that evolution coming to pass.....

His numbers make you look very stupid Fro
You keep on batsmen and ill keep on bowlers

Try sticking to what you know unless they are
complete selection failures ala that hawkesbury
bloke, how he ever got selected over juniors is
beyond me,even with his large scalps in the last
game he does seem to be a little bit...rubbish

Numbers dont tell the whole Story champ.

But if you want to compare Lee and McGrath by any measure ever go right ahead. one of them is an absolute great of the game, and the other one is Brett Lee.

As for Hastings, he is doing the same job as any number of clowns could, James Hopes, Andrew McDonald, Dan Christian, every team has one, a bits and peices allrounder that fills a hole.

Doesn't make him anymore or less than that.

No,his long history of numbers tell the story
You read like you want to find problems instead
of reading the given text,i said he was evolving
into McGrath, not that his comparable with him
as McGrath had a top speed of about 138kmh and Lee
used to bowl 160kmh,Completely different styles

You are trying to compare a Skyline GTR to a Ford
Falcon GT-HO Phase 3,They are both sports cars but
have that many differences that they are not comparable
because they both attract a different market and will never
steal eachothers limelight

Selective reading is a troll aspect

I dont know what Lee done to you,he might have
made you cry because he beat the guy who you used
to perve on into the aussie team, but his far from useless

His Average is just above McGrath and he can put on
a score every once in a while,His 50 wickets behind
but Lee still plays,McGrath will never take another ODI
Wicket,Who would you like to replace him with?

Hastings?Tait?Any other bowling jokes that we have
in the system at the moment? no idea? We still have
other bowlers to replace before Lee gets the chop

So no idea at all who can replace Lee?
Good,me either thx for playing

Just when I think you may have some redeeming aspect, you disappoint again.

So ive decided to just ignore you in future, nobody on here is anywhere near as thick as you.

Cheers fool.

I love how you dont give a real response
to an arguement you could never win

Score 1-1
Round 3 to me on forfeit?

*hands Fro a kleenex*

The future bowling attack isnt ready yet
The current attack looks like a stop-gap solution

Id love to see the young guys have a go,but they are
that young if they start bad they will lose all confidence
and be thrown on our evergrowing scrap heap of ODI pacemen

The one who will replace Lee is a year off in my eyes, probably
longer off in selectors eyes, but he will be replaced by Cummins

We have Lee,Johnson and Bollinger as certains at the moment
Lee hasnt got long left
Bollinger i cant make a call on yet
Johnson....well lets just say on his day,he is utterly damaging, when its not his day,his likely to lose us the game with fast erratic ****,its all in the swing

Lee has 300+ wickets at an average of 22 with an RPO of 4.2 or something like that, in this modern day ODI cricket, that is outstanding whichever way you want to look at it

Lee is a better bowler than David Hussey is a specialist spinner, Brad Haddin a rubbish batsman, or Dave Warner a test opener.

I don't have the Ashes stats in front of me but Pryor certainly wasn't topping the averages for the Poms even if he did have Collingwood covered. I never mentioned Trott, so don't see your point ?

My point about the Gabba was that if he isn't going to swing it and deck it around there, he never will. This was in response to my criticism that he doesn't move the ball. The WACA will give him pace and bounce, and yes I would suspect that will help his style. Unfortunately there won't be many WACA's or Gabbas in India during the World Cup. They'll be like Adelaide Ovals, or slower, over there and he didn't go too well there the other day.

Reread my original post, I said Lee's selection as Man of the Match over Hussey at the SCG smacked of PR crap. I still stand by that, Hussey's innings did more to win that game then Lee knocking over a couple of pommy tail enders.

And Shane, I don't "hate" Brett Lee, well not in the same way you hate Brad Haddin anyway. I acknowledge his talent, just think he isn't the answer for this World Cup bid. He has about as much hope of being a Glenn McGrath as Cameron White does of batting at 4 in the Test side.

Anyway let's see how he goes in India. If he carves up I will admit I was wrong, no problem there. I just think that our bowling attack for that tournament is looking pretty fragile, so I hope our batsmen are in form as I can see us chasing some big totals. I'm off to the one dayer tomorrow so I'll get a first hand look at Binga....perhaps he'll change my mind.

Couldnt agree more C&C but who would you replace Bing with?

I think our attack is blunter than a tub of butter, but my main concern
with replacing bing is i think we have other bowlers that need replacement more urgently than bing,Tait is definatly up for the knife 1st followed by Hastings and Johnson (without swing,if he can get that turn he will carve)

And yes,i did hate Haddin,i thought he was a selfish highlight reel wanting batsman, during the test series he proved me wrong however his tears at being left out of a T20 series made me ill to my stomach,if he said that in the 1st place, sometimes i need to remember the DT does not let the truth get in the way of sales

Fro,sorry about the gay joke,it wasnt nice and where i grew up that was something that would cause a laugh, not offense,so im sorry if that upset you
