No team is ever going to win the premiership every year.
But, if you can make the top 4 each year - you are in with a very good chance of making / winning the GF

Good question, how do you measure success? Playing finals at the moment feels like a successful season. However at the start of this season if we said we’d scrape into the 8 and lose week 1, we’d probably say that was a failure.

Obviously winning the premiership is the ultimate success
However top 4 and at least playing the game before the GF is a pretty good year

Luck with injuries and referee decisions are vital at that point

Its all depend on the year and the situation of the club.

This year succesful for mine would have been top 4. Though as soon as Tom went down succesful would have been top 8 with at least a solid showing in the finals.

We were not successful this year 😂😂

We were Top 4 last year and always felt like we'd fail when it came to a really great team.
So ... Premiership or bust!

Interesting question to ponder.
16 teams, 8 teams make the "finals".
Every team's target is the top 8 = 50%
Really only half that realistically think top 4 = 25%
History says a top 4 finish gives you the best shot a GF - this year the final 4 finished 1, 3, 4, 7 with two of those, 1 & 7 being last years Grand Finalists.

So really, it all starts wth making the finals as the base.

Broncos should be mightily pissed off even though their improvement this year, they delivered plenty of hope and were certain finalists this year until...

The Storm probably look back on their season as being unsuccessful in finishing 5th but there's more than a few pundits that think they overachieved this year.

Did the Sharks overachieve?
Is anything less than 2nd next year a failure?

The comp is so tight now that the difference from week to week can be vast.
We've seen with most of the top teams that losing or getting back just one key player can make a huge difference to the performance of their respective teams.

The answer is a pineapple.🤔
