So far in 2024 we have:

• led Parra by 14 & lost
• led Warriors by 16 & drew
• led Raiders by 20 & lost
• led Tigers by 16 & lost

That is 7 comp points that slipped through our fingers. If we did win all those games we would be sitting pretty on 38 points & in second position on the ladder................what could have been.

I kinda get your point and it is interesting but the fact that it's a pattern, tells me that these aren't missed opportunities, more that it accurately depicts where we are at as a team. Those lapses aren't mental, they're systematic. We can score points when we have momentum but we lack the systems to fall back on when momentum turns.

On the surface, it looks like we threw those games away but it's happening too often and I see our middles struggle to win the ruck each week and for that reason, I believe it's a football problem, not mental. The coach and players are aware of it and they'd want to win badly but when momentum swings, we just don't have the players to wrestle it back.

Some great wins , but just not good enough to get the job done consistently.

If it played out like that period we’d be in the GF in 2025.

Back then we just needed a few key players to take the next step.

Some great wins , but just not good enough to get the job done consistently.

If it played out like that period we’d be in the GF in 2025.

I hope you’re right. Feels more like the team of 2003. We have good backs but really limited forwards. We lack speed, aggression and defensive effort. Jake is a great man but a total liability in attack. Ditto Croker. You can’t beat good sides carrying so many no contributors.

Squad is signed long term which is a huge plus .. plenty of effort from the players, just missing the discipline and smarts when momentum is running against us. 2025-28 is building nicely.. not sure why all the negativity and FYI systems are key in a football season, not purely results. Never winning the comp in 2024.. heading in right direction.
