• led Warriors by 16 & drew
• led Raiders by 20 & lost
• led Tigers by 16 & lost

That is 7 comp points that slipped through our fingers. If we did win all those games we would be sitting pretty on 38 points & in second position on the ladder................what could have been.

Yeah we certainly aren't winning the comp this year. If we improve as much next year as 2024 has been an improvement on 2023, then maybe we will be in with a chance.

Yes what might have been. But great teams that challenge to be premiers don’t drop those games. Maybe 1, but they learn from it and won’t let it continue to happen.

In my opinion our coach is soft, our defence coach is useless and we are at least a solid prop, hooker, left edge backrower and strike centre away from really being contenders.

On the numbers alone our defence has certainly improved.

We averaged 22.45 points conceded against us last year and 20.9 this year which is 6th best in the league.

Unless your arguement is we have have gone backwards since Des? But that doesnt wring true either as we conceded 24.79 per game in 2022. So that is year on year improvement.

Fact is our team is just mentally weak. Cannot handle it when calls go against them. Cannot dig deep to find what's needed to over come adversity. To stand up for the guy next to you and put in the extra effort because of the bonds between them. Comes from the culture in the place and the bond between players and coaching staff. Perhaps there are still issues unresolved.

For me the 5 points from the Raiders, Tigers and Warriors games are clearly the points we should have got.

A couple of the other blown leads - eels and dolphins I can live with as part of the swings and roundabouts of a season.

You can add in the putrid efforts against Souths and Broncos as well. Basically we just aren't good enough and the constant running dribble from Seibold about the Manly way, weapons , proud of efforts and being top 4 competitive are just running dry now.

Either way 6th or 7th is probably where this team should end up and likely will.

You really do like making sh*t up - a simple look at our points differential for Des 2.0’s first 2 seasons compared to Siebold’s 2 season thus far shows how full of sh*t you are:

2019: 50+
2020: 134-

2023: 6+
2024: 121+
