It's cute how you think Barrett personally handles all the signings.
Loobs that is the point. If he cant control Bozo then he can't coach. A bigger more experienced coach is needed to put Bozo back in his box, scary thing is that the only bloke capable of doing that is Des. But unfortunately Bozo likes the system he has at the moment.

I felt sick after the loss today however I have calmed down. We are down on troops -our 3 best props out. Plus we are disadvantaged by having Matai & STewart in our cap. I still believe with an ounce of luck and with everyone available we could match most teams. The biggest positive of today was Brenton Lawrence - he was the standout of all the forwards on the field.
Lawrence was inspirational and seemed to be on the field the whole game bless him. Sironen is a disgrace - a few meek hitups and zero impact..His mate Frankenstein about the same. Myles abysmal as always. There are a number of blokes in our 'top 17' simply not having a crack/not first grade standard. Today was a day to stand up and show some ticker and look what we got - a pea hearted embarrassing and inept display from most players and coaching staff that are simply incapable of getting the best out of a mediocre bunch.

What a crap game
I sat here with my son at 12-0 after Tom scored and still felt uncomfortable ....
Why??
The team lacks backbone!!
I feel for young Jake who leads through action...not words - but fact is - the rest are not buying into a winning side.
The white flag is raised across the field as soon as the going gets tough.
As a supporter it makes me sick....it's visible through the TV let alone those poor supporters copping it live.
I don't mind losing when all bleed for the side, problem is they don't give a rats as shown end of game smiling and laughing with the opposition...the supporters care more...pathetic....

The good thing is that with the teams poor form we're not likely to be decimated come Origin time.

The bad news is that with their personal form, we may lose both the Turbo's come Origin time. Even Daley isn't silly enough to play a 20 year old at fullback in Origin, but it wouldn't surprise to see Tom on the wing for NSW. As we saw yesterday, he has his speed and fitness back. Alex Johnston couldn't foot it with him when he scored (and Johnston is no slouch), he could only make sure he scored out wide enough for Walker to miss the kick. And he still looked like he could run after clocking up 313 metres. And if Jake doesn't start I'd be willing to bet he'll at least get a bench spot for the Blues.

Walker is here for 4 years, although there was a story earlier in the DT that he wants to go back to Redfern.:exclamation:
I'm with you HM - it wouldn't upset me to see him go. People just need to look at a replay and see his defensive efforts directly leading to three tries and then tell me they don't think he is a problem.

One game can be excused; however, this is merely a continuation of his defensive efforts last year.

MSE won't solve the problem whilst they run the Franchise as a mates club.@

Amazingly they do not accept that the business of footy is like all other.
MSE need clear structures and accountability for each aspect and no interference from those who are not accountable to their department head.

Whoever the Coach is, he is constantly relegated down the pecking order of who gets the priority with the Owners.
Dez quit when his authority was starting to be diminished.
2v attempted to navigate the many faction heads and ended up with a back full of knives.

Z is a huge issue that is not addressed due to being a relative of a relative.
The extension of Snake's contract was a prime example of interference from the non coaching faction.

Bringing in Bozo as a recruitment specialist, with his terrible recent NSW Blues record made no sense.
Then elevating him to Head of Football Operations last year, just compounded the problem of the Coach having independence to establish his style.
Past glories should be left for the record books and everyone at MSE should be judged on their current contributions.

I feel for Baz as he is the face of the failing structure that he is not responsible for.@

MSE is bleeding money and it will be another lean year if they don't address their issues. Meanwhile the Manly brand continues to be devalued :swear:

Sad to witness @

What system did Gould Have when he took over the promised land at Penrith in 2011 . How many coaches and players did he turn over .
Is there a miracle fix ?

We all know bozo is running the show... zoolander is just there to look good for the cameras (learnt a lesson from the broncs having the crypt keeper front every presser .. no thanks).... look at bozos last attempt at coaching manly... ended on 7 straight losses or so before jumping ship to a nsw job, that loses 10 series in a row... then back to manly, to lose how many ??? theres a pattern here isnt there...
Need to get rid of a bloke that is out of touch with a sport that has well and truly passed him by

great post

I believe that Barrett, his entire coaching staff, head conditioner, Zorba Peters and Fulton all must go. They have overseen the monumental destruction of an unbelievably good football team. Poor recruitment and releasing of players, the undermining of people like Geoff Toovey and Steve Gigg, along with the treatment of a man like Jamie Buhrer, has left a lot of us with a rather bad taste.

Manly need to break with the tradition of not walking coaches during a season, and walk the entire lot immediately. If the status quo remains, our season will be over by Easter. That will be three years with no finals. For this year, I think they need a proven and steady hand to guide the ship. While he has some personality flaws, I would be looking at someone in the mould of Brian Smith. He will certainly get them playing actual football and he does not take nonsense. From there, they can look at who they want for 2018. I too believe that someone with a strong Manly dna is the right choice.

ivan cleary any chance?? toovey come back? id take back des for f***'s sake.
we need a new coach.
this isn't your typical 'bag the coach' thread when we lose, i struggle to find one good reason as to why he should stay. seriously, someone give me one good thing he has done?
a few good signings in taupau, cullen etc.
look at the players he has signed though. lane, 3 clubs in 12 months, winterstein, aus sevens outcast, myles,... no comment, sold parcell and buhrer.. why?!
its a complete joke. this needs to be resolved before our stars leave... if we leave barrett in the role ill give you two years until the trbojevics leave, and who could blame them.
the side isn't manly, no ball contesting, no repeat sets, no BIG players... what we have about 3 big men? taupau afb and lawrence...
don't forget the Wrights and that park footballer Lewis brown as for myles absolutely pathetic
