We were extremely lucky

watching the game last night, and quite a few of the Warriors games this season, potentially the biggest move of all in rebuilding this club, was Foran trying to stuff us by signing with Parramatta

Remember back then, the club decided it was either Foran or DCE, and the club went the Foran route and DCE was out the door. Foran then tried to nuke us by leaving as well thinking that we wouldn't have either of them. Thankfully that move allowed us to go in all guns blazing to retain DCE who is miles ahead as the better player

If the club got its way, and Foran stayed and took 1 million a year from us, we would be joining Newcastle and the Tigers in the battle for the spoon, the guy is trying hard, but is a ghost of his former self, has 1-2 nice touches a game and spends the rest of it limping around doing stuff all, the Dogs are getting robbed the next 3 years paying him the big money when his body is no longer capable of producing value for money

Potentially losing Foran is 1 of the best things that has happened to us in our recent history

Parra paidforan about 120,000 per game.
Warriors will get about four to five more games out of him for a total of about 14 For whatever $$$ they are paying him. The dogs are such a basket case they are hoping they can get lucky for a few seasons.
Meanwhile DCE has been our rock and has become the best half in the game this season.

Don't forget coming back to Sydney will put him within old mate Eddie's grasp again. That, shot hammies and Parra like pressure to perform could spell the end of his career.

I remember being swept up with the media's agenda and was "Boo, DCE abandoned us, but Yay Foz is better and will stay."

I didn't stop to think about DCE having his offer pulled and for a moment I forgot how Foz kept us hanging last contract signing.

The panic here when both had gone including the "let's sign *insert any player that had even seen a halfback* now" threads showed how nervous we all were.

DCE came back, and I am extremely happy about that. At that time I still didn't know what a screw up foz was but by crikey gee willikers did we dodge a big ole bullet.

Go Daly!

Foran also kept us hanging with his previous contract also. When Des initially went to the doggiez

The 2nd half of 2014 was a toxic time for our club where the players who made the club so great got upset and the nity we had was destroyed. Our club went through the mill during that time and the future of the club which was DCE and Foran at the time were the beacons of our discontent.

Foran was bewitched by the DAlai and took the coin to play over there, I lost all respect for him when he did that , cause I understood that he had signed there much earlier and went through the motions at Manly for a good season. Foran is now nothing more than a mercanery and there are clubs out there fooling enough to pay for his services, knowing that his body is busted.

In hindsight we are lucky that we kept DCE but the lessons from that time are obvious that no player no matter how good he is is bigger than the club. To see this young and hungry team we have at the moment punch above their weight and put the pride back into our jersey is wonderful to see. When Tommy smashed Foran in that tackle I felt an overwhelming feeling that Tommy had just spoken on behalf of us fans for the hassles that Foran caused us a few years back.

We are extremely luck that we have a long term culture that kicks in and stops us from being down for too long. Long may that continue!!

Foran was always staying with manly the first time. He was torn but he always knew he owed it to the club that gave him his his first shot; from his mother's mouth.

What happened in the following years is a totally different story.

We got the best years out of Foran without a doubt. I don't think anyone here would have known the depths of his personal issues that came to a head at Parra, if you did, there is no way you would have entertained thoughts of retaining him at all costs. Foran was a very good player in his prime, but I always felt there was more upside to DCE and a more "marquee player" feel about him.

You'd like to think that someone at the club made the conscious decision to cut Foran loose and go keen on DCE, but clearly Foran made that decision for us. That left egg on faces at the club I suspect because they were putting their faith in him and he left us swinging - not sure I subscribe to the theory he waited out DCE to make sure we were left halfless.

I wish the Dogs the best of luck with him, I think they will need it.

Is his name Foran, or
FOUR-an, in honour of the four clubs he'll have played for in the last four years.
Or is it ALSOran in memory of his days as a top player?

Was a massive f**k up by the club to withdraw the offer DCE accepted and throw all the eggs into Forans basket.
Glad I stood by DCE even when most were happy to feed him to the wolves.
