Agree. Contrast Penn with the passion & involvement of Politis at the Roosters. He seems to be involved in all that happens at that club (irrespective of whether you like him or not), where as Penn appears as mostly 'the owner' & nothing more. Seems to only make an occasional cameo appearance in the strategic evolvement of the club.

Im sure Hoppa Sr is a Manly diehard, but he's got to look after his own kids interests ahead of the club. Look at Nathan Hindmarsh's son, hes played through the Eels junior system and just signed with Penrith.

I know what you're saying but I'm hoping you're wrong this time. He seems like a naturally gifted player and you get the impression he's a good kid.
I kind of hope they make him a priority (within reason) because I hate seeing quality local juniors line up against us.

Ummm…..Manly merged with the Bears & took on their debts which almost cost them. To get back to normal they let the Bears go….Manly was never in danger of being chucked out or merging with the Bears to survive. It was the fact we took on the Bears that caused our financial issues. Luckily Delmege got us out of the ****!

The huge concern would be if Manly were to be defunct again and this time all the catchment area of talent will belong to the Perth Bears, since Rugby League is seldom played in WA anyway. Unfortunately it makes better commercial sense for the NRL.
My prediction would be that Penn eventually withdraws his investment from the club if he cant find a buyer and that would be the end of the Sea Eagles for good.
