Galvin

Whoever signs him must do so for market value. None of this he wants to win a Premier BS. The Tigers offered him 6.5 million for six years, an amount that must be reflected in his new clubs salary if the NRL serious. I'm sick of the double standards we see between the big clubs and the rest.
So if one club offers 1.2 million a year and 3 clubs offer $850k, what is his market value???. He is currently on $350k

No one forces people to gamble
Technically true, but...
google reckons between May 2022 and April 2023, gambling companies in Australia spent approximately $238.63 million on advertising across free-to-air TV, metro radio, and online platforms.
That's just because they are community minded, we probably can't say any-one is ever influenced to make a bet (or to bet more) by any of those ads

Whilst that is very true it doesn't help when we have state and federal govts addicted to gambling revenue like junkies allowing the perverted proliferation of gambling pubs, clubs, casinos and online betting everywhere you turn.
Yep, and don't forget big donations to political parties. But again, it's just because they are community minded, not for quid pro quo!

I'm with you Frogz.

Since they started to build, they've bought.

Mahoney
Kikau
Burton
Xerri
Crichton
Tupouniua
Taafe
Treacy
Mann (SOO call up)
King (SOO call up)

And now they add Leo Thompson and Galvin.

They're not all on huge coin but guys like Connor Treacy and Kurt Mann have really shown their worth.
And they have added Laundy to their roster on an indefinite deal.

Let's not kid ourselves, a wealthy benefactor has ways of attracting and keeping players outside of the prying eyes of the salary cap auditor....I miss the days of Delmege

Didn't say anything about Gould actually. Just questioning how a team can keep on buying and we cant. So Burton and Crichton aren't million dollars players?? Crichton signed in excess of $800 and has been given an upgrade and extension. Burton almost $900.....Kikau.. Mahoney... both on upwards of $800 (allegedly). All im saying is it adds up and always does elsewhere, at every other club, except at our joint. And if you really believe Galvin and Isaac Moses are leaving over $1 million on the table, you believe in the Tooth fairy.

May I also say good on them, as everyone who has rich owners and rich sponsors seems to do well, although the salary cap is suppose to be the same for every club.
Critta was signed for $800k in believe, the rest aren't on that. There's no one on a million dollars, Sexton,Curran,Kurt Mann all signed on chump change club rejects,

Time will tell if Galvin is just another Schuster type signing.
Problem is you have a group of guys that worked hard together to be 1st place on the ladder, only for a blow-in to come in and be 'That guy' who calls the shots. Now they have to change whats worked to accomodate him.
He would have been better served going to the Eels, where his legacy is not on the line from the get go. He is expected to deliver a premiership straight away.
Thank you for your post response feathered friend
Here is my perspective take ..

Two Different characters ....
Galvin has the Shuster talent but does not have the Schuster issues ,
You do have a Group of Bulldogs doing their best to be first place on the ladder
And Adding another Talented player in their squad only increases competition and places complacency on notice .
IMO The Dogs are Going places and Galvin has landed at the right place

Money well spent
Roster well selected
And You have a Smart coach to get the job done

Galvin is length's ahead of the Schu.

I can see lots of brown paper bags passed around at Laundy pubs.
Who in their right mind would pass up $2,250.000 over 5 years??
They are over the cap, Burton, Criton, Kikau and Cherri to name a few went to the club when they were ****tt. In order to attract players like that when struggling you need to pay overs and these guys are in their prime.

Our club is asleep at the wheel.
