We are Laughing stock of the NRL

The saddest thing is I do believe we have the talent to be genuine premiership contenders - but poor coaching and even worse club management has meant the premiership window was barely open..
Can you please tell me who these players are you are talking about that play consistent good footy..I know we have a couple but the majority of the squad suck

Yeah I’m no Seibs hater but he had a lot to do with that spoon. Just because he wasn’t head coach at the back end of the year, he still had a significant role to play in the outcome of the season. Just being sacked mid year causes all sorts of problems.
He wasn't sacked, he quit.

Anthony Seibold physically last coached the Broncos in Round 13 of the 2020 NRL Series (65% of the season for 3 Wins & 10 Losses) and Peter Gentle physically coached them from Round 14 up to and including the final round, Round 20 (the remaining 35% of the season) and he (Peter Gentle) didn't win a game in those final 7 games.

When Seibold last coached the team, they were in 15th spot, and they remained there until Round 18. The following week (Round 19) they lost again, and the then last placed Bulldogs beat the Rabbits which then put the Broncos into last place, and the eventual winner of the wooden spoon at the conclusion of the final round the following week.

In my opinion, Peter Gentle had ample opportunity to turn the Broncos fortunes around in those final 7 games but failed miserably. If Seibold and his coaching was the problem, once he was gone, then they should have started winning some of those final 7 games of the 2020 season and avoided the wooden spoon.

Here are a few excerpts from a Broncos News article dated Wednesday, 26 Aug 2020, 08:59 AM:

Anthony Seibold has chosen to step down from the Broncos Coaching role, effective immediately.

Broncos CEO Paul White said: “As you are aware, Anthony spent the last two weeks in home isolation after having to step out of the Project Apollo bubble for a serious family matter.

During those two weeks away, he reflected on his role at the Broncos and the impact it was having on his life away from rugby league.

Broncos CEO Paul White said at the time: “For the remainder of the season, Peter Gentle will continue to coach the team, as he has done for the past fortnight."

Mate Please dont do it
Please !
You dont want to have Manly spoon blood money on you as it will stain your Manly soul for eternity
Ola out for a extended period, our new backrow pairing of Waddle and Bent + the DCE drama and Tom on one leg, and Garick's defensive brilliance along with Grimace's Mc Coaching style, its to good of chance of happening not to throw a lazy $100 on it an I don't normally bet at all. If we get the spoon I'll take the family to Disneyland and not feel bad about it at all.

Everyone knows what stepping down really means. Remember when Trent Barrett did it at the Bulldogs? It’s a publicity stunt designed to protect the dignity of all concerned.

If you want, I can run the spoon through a bandsaw and Seibs can have half and Gentle can take the other off cut.

Don’t forget the other very important part of that leadership team. Our captain, chief playmaker and highest paid player. How could anyone defend him, let alone claim he is elite.

The saddest thing is I do believe we have the talent to be genuine premiership contenders - but poor coaching and even worse club management has meant the premiership window was barely open..
We've never had the forwards to be genuine contenders, and our three highest paid players have been putting in sub par performances

Let's hope Spoony takes time to reflect over next 2 weeks during the bye and quits as coach of Manly, as best mate Mestrov may not have the balls to sack him.

OMFG so we recruited Spoony and Gentle. Fu*k me drunk.

I was wondering if that was the same guy we have heading recruitment. Not that he apparently does anything. The last time I heard of someone actively scouting for us was Crusher Cleal, and even he was more part time scouting/part time pig shooting with Bozo.

The most senior player (and the last Broncos premiership winner) remaining that season was Darius Boyd, who for whatever reason didn't get dropped even though he was an absolute scarecrow in defense.

I think some clubs end up with a scenario where the status and influence of some player/s is greater than that of the coach... it is still the coach's responsibility to address that when it is a net negative overall impact to the team, but it is often easier said than done.
