Wayne Cousins ( Media Manager)

Clearly a popular fellow with fans here, reading anecdotes seem about how he actually deigned to speak with fans, which suggests he's a good person.
Nevertheless over recent years I've been underwhelmed at the lack of Manly content in the mass media. Not suggesting that's Cuzzo's fault. For all I know maybe you have to pay bribes or something these days, and Penn was too stingy to cough up. Either way I think Manly's media profile could certainly be better.
I would actually take this as a positive for Cuzzo's output. We were hammered in the media constantly and its taken a long time to turn this around and have us now out of the constant limelight and muckraking that went on.

So I would say that having less aimed at us and fewer, but more positive articles is exactly what we needed from a media manager to turn around all the infighting and constant rumours

It’s , Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat
Even Facebook is considered “ old school” these days.
Honestly I believe it’s this change that’s driven their decision making with regards to Wayne.
Ask any 15 -35 year old who he is and they’ll say “ who “.

The world isn’t what it was 20 years ago , in fact it isn’t even what it was 5 years ago.
Tik Tok and your clock is out of whack feathered friend

But believe all the fiction that you like
I will stick to the facts

Facts
As of 2024, Facebook continues to be Australia's most used social media platform, with 78.2% of internet users aged 16 to 64 using it monthly.

One thing we agree on
The World isnt what it was 20 years ago and Neither are The Manly Sea eagles

The one thing you’re forgetting is the demographic they are wanting to aim at.

I would suggest to you the percentage of 16-25’s that engage on Facebook would be nothing at all like 78%.

I asked my daughter who’s in the marketing department of RMIT university in Melbourne where the spend their money on to market their courses largely aimed at 18 year olds but really the 16-25 bracket.

Google by far the biggest spend.
Tik Tok next
Instagram next

As far as Facebook goes her response was “ absolutely zero as the demographic that uses that medium isn’t what we are aiming at “.

However , if they are users on Facebook , and they’ve used Google to research , Google knows what socisl media they use and will place advertisements in every one of them ( which is why they spend so much on Google ).

So in relation to the digital teams at all the NRL clubs , they would be aiming to interest this new age group in the hope of capturing them for life , we at our age are already hooked.

Which means Tik Tok , Instagram , Snapchat and the like , but NOT Facebook.

So forget your 78% stats , dig deeper and you’ll see the percentage of 16 year olds using Facebook is minuscule.

RABS JUNIOR FLEES TIGERS

Chris Warren has joined the Sea Eagles to head up its new-look communications team.

Warren, the son of legendary rugby league commentator Ray, left his job at the Tigers before Christmas to take up a similar position with Manly.

Warren, who played five games for the Magpies, replaces Manly’s popular long-term media manager Wayne Cousins.

Perhaps his application to Manly was that ridiculous congratulations post to Luke Brooks for playing a finals game.

Tigers media has been on the up in recent times.

Tigers media has been on the up in recent times.
Nothing in the Tigers camp has been going up in recent times
They have won 3 wooden spoons in recent times
The whole organisation has been in shambles
and they are letting the mediocre ones go in recent times

Some how we do not recruit Top people from Top operating clubs like the Panthers , The Storm or the Roosters
We keep recruiting people from the Bottom Wooden spoon Tigers

I'm sorry, but how do you legally make a role redundant, then replace the position immediately? Wouldn't that be a case for unfair dismissal ?
This life was not meant to be fair or easy feathered friend
Every day we look at the News we see it
And every time adversity strikes us unexpectedly like a Python we say Screw you , I am not going to be your Victim of injustice , I am going to keep on keeping on and Prosper

Don't buy it @manlyfan76 - they shafted him in my view.
Not at all. You will find the old JD for Wayne is significantly different to the new JD for Chris Warren. Horse and cart v motor vehicle. Wayne's old job (as defined by it's JD and Job Goals) no longer exists. The old Wayne role is well and truly redundant.

I take it Cousins’ role was more akin to that performed by Peter Peters, during his time as the Club’s media manager.

As others have said, an increasingly redundant one.

Thank you @silvereagle for clarifying

The law has changed around this a lot over the last few years.
Namely you could make someone redundant and hire someone else the next day, all you have to do is show that there has been a change to the business financial position which could be as simple as an invoice being paid

So are Wests Tigers Dysfunctional club a more progressive club than ours with this new Chris Warren JD Media role ?
