Wayne Cousins ( Media Manager)

Cuzzo is a good man and deserved better pre-Christmas. As The Wheel said, I think the impact will be felt over time. His value will be appreciated by fans, players, CEO and coach when they need his experience/output during the year.

I can’t help but feel that $ are being saved in other areas to support greater investment in the football department. Don’t forget that long service is paid after 10 years too.

Anyway, the merits of this management decision will be seen over time.

Good luck Cuzzo and thanks for your strong efforts over the last ten years.
Long service is payable if terminated by the employer after 5 years, so completely disingenuous to intimate that had something to do with it.

A better man in Rugby League, you'd struggle to find.

As @The Wheel mentioned, as part of the Member Council, we were able to get to know Cuzzo really well and chat on a regular basis.

Whilst his skills, knowledge and attributes made him a huge asset to the club, more than anything I can tell you he loved/loves MWSE.

It will be strange not seeing him out on the ground on game day at 4 Pines. Although I'm sure at some point he'll venture to a game from the other side of the fence.

Thanks for everything, Cuzzo!

This is sad to hear. The club has been doing such good stuff in the media space in the last 18 months. I'd say that The Manly Way in particular is probably the reason they Brookie now sells out every single time.
Let us put all this sadness in perspective feathered friend
Great people that we all love at our club have and will move on
But our Manly Sea eagles Club and our Greatest love of all is here to stay for all blessed and privileged Manly Generations .

I left a Message on Cuzzos phone thanking him for his Great Manly Contribution and His Great Manly Passion

I dont feel sorry for Cuzzo because Capable Men like Cuzzo Capitalize from all the Great work they have done at Manly and move on to a successful venture

Life is too short for sadness
Sadness should be only temporary
Happy Memories are Permanent
Thanks for the Happy Manly Memories feathered friend Cuzzo <3

I was saddened to hear that Cuzzo will be leaving the club.
He joined us from a similar role at Wests Tigers and mates I have who knew him there rated him very highly and were sorry to see him leave.
I had a fair bit to do with him in his early days and I always found him keen, confident and good at his job and, especially, great with people - something that has been very evident throughout his time with us.
If you're reading this Wayne, thanks for everything you've done for our great club... know that is was recognised and respected by many and I'd like to extend very best wishes and good luck with whatever the next chapter of life brings you and yours.
Cheers Mate

It's such a testament to his character that as an outsider (originally from Tigers), he was able to endear himself to the Sea Eagles community to the point he was well loved and appreciated, and part of the family / furniture.

He'll rebound. I just still think it;s sad. Where's an announcement? He was a pretty prominent figure and character at the club. Tony Mestrov?

Many People come to an organisation with Qualifications
Very few Deliver with the Dedication and Passion that Cuzzo has done
The long Serving Cuzzo has done the Manly Club and the Manly Supporters Proud
He deserves and announcement
Maybe Tony Mestrov has laryngitis ?
Wishing you a quick recovery Tony

110% right , I had a staff member leave after 9 1/2 years , still got LSL, the 8 weeks on s pro rata basis , think it was 7 weeks & 2 days , so only 3 days short of the full wack

And I can assure you , he’s reading this as I was contacted to amend my post a little ( at that point I’d simply just read it elsewhere and had no knowledge of what had happened ).

So anything you say will get through.

Not being disingenuous @Ralphie, just a layman’s error of understanding. Thanks for calling it out. I’m just trying to find some logic in the decision.

Can you or someone else in the know suggest a scenario where you’d only get two week’s notice instead of four if you’d served nearly ten years?

The law would be that no matter what notice an employee is given they’d be paid for the statutory period required anyway , in this case it’s probably a month regardless.

He is? Awesome.

I'll see him in Canada then. 🙂

Thanks for all you did Wayne! 11 thumbs up.

All good, if he had 9.5 years of service, he would be paid all accrued Long Service Leave and if he had been made redundant, he would have received 16 weeks redundancy per the NES. He would have had a greater period of notice if he was above 40 years old (I think thats the age). On top of that he would also have been paid all unused Annual Leave etc. So, by my reckoning he was probably paid minimum of 24-25 weeks pay.

Yep , that sounds about right.

I can't comprehend that the position has been made redundant. That means there will no longer be a media manager. Unthinkable!
Even if the club has appointed a PR consultancy the club will still need a contact person 'in the know' to alert the PR people to opportunities. Perhaps it will be the receptionist? In many organisation the receptionist is the best informed employee of all. But I jest.
It doesn't ring true that any professional sporting organisation can do without a media manager. There has to be more to this report than is being released.

Cheers Cuzzo, appreciate your great engagement with the supporters. Particularly when times were bumpy and our NRL side were going through poor seasons, you helped keep morale up and us supporter’s connected.
110 % @Mals
Cuzzo's High Morality and Passion has shone through like a beacon of shining light till the very end.
When I personally thanked him for his Great Passionate Contribution to our Club
Cuzzo replied that he was Grateful for the opportunity and the many Great Friends and Memories Onwards and Upwards

A Clubs Great Character is built by the Great People a club invests in
and Cuzzo Great Qualities were an Asset to our club
Our Manly Loss Will be some one else's Mighty Gain
