I have a thick skin 🤷‍♂️

Philosophy has taught me to rely on my own convictions rather than on the judgements of others and to concern myself less with whether I am well thought of than whether what I do or say is evil.
All good mate @flying sea eagle . We agree to disagree. On Silvertails like any other NRL forum, there are no facts, only interpretations. 🧐

Would rather a halves combination of Lachlan Lewis and Kyle Flanagan.

Actually that's a bit harsh. I just don't rate him and don't think he would kick on with us. Have been wrong before though. I don't believe his off field issues are terminal btw

That’s like saying, if Teddy decides on another club… Manly should grab him.
Nah a bit off there mate - Teddy is an out and out fullback and im happy with our fullback, yet Burton can play centre or in the halves so far more opportunity to fill a spot and maybe slightly less coin 1 would think

Off Contract for 2022. With the Panthers facing salary cap pressure to keep their team together he's one that may (pardon the pun) be squeezed out. I see a place for him in the Maroon & White and the more I think about it the more I like it.

Case for: I'd be looking to sign him as a versatile centre, who can more than ably act as a back-up fullback or half. I think he'd add a huge amount of value over Parker in attack, he could go a way to being the skilled Jamie Lyon type piece in our attack (not comparing his ability to Killer, referring to functional role) or for a more modern example what Matt Burton brings at the Panthers.

Case against: He has had some off-field drama and without knowing him I won't speculate as to whether or not he's a good cultural fit. What I will say is from the misdemeanors I'm aware of they are stupid but seem more a kid making dumb mistakes.

The other point worth raising in terms of culture, on the field he seems to be a player who knows what it takes to win. I recall some big moments against us in past seasons where he found a way to get the job done.

In conclusion I think he'd be a great get for us provided those in the know give him the good bloke tick.
Wasnt he filmed having a sexual act with one of the players sisters

no thanks

he also was a bum when playing in the halves this year

can’t think of much worse a recommendation as he is a pretty poor footballer anyways so getting the off-field doesnt really have any onfield upside

I didn't know that. In that case he was rubbish anyway 😀
Fish is a gun centre and i would rate him above our other centre options. Des has faith in Harper and Scorpio however so Tevita has had not much game time sadly. Was rookie of the year and I thought he would really kick on but not to be. I would be absolutely thrilled if he stayed but I think he's already signed with the Tahs?

Hopefully he'll kill it in rugby.

You miss the point. Of course less coin and a FB….

6 months ago Burton signed a 2yr deal million+ dollar deal with the Dogs to play 5/8.

He’s about as available to sign as Teddy.
Valid points Batty - and we missed each others....mine was IF we are looking to sign a versatile player to improve the squad....it would need to be of a Burton standard - not May

I’d be ecstatic to get someone of Burton’s caliber. The kid is a superstar on the rise.

With our salary cap position though and having huge money tied up in Kapow, DCE and the Turbros, I highly doubt it.

Our signings for the next few years will all be “Moneyball” style until we can get rid of Marty or DCE
Yeh very true - we will be cap heavy just to keep our key roster and the quality kids coming through the grades....the moneyball signing is accurate also and a great example is young Bullemore who I have a feeling could be the perfect impact super sub in 2022.

There was a match earlier in the year where he showed how slow he is...like i'm talking criminally slow...he'd make Jamal Fogerty and Kurt De Luis look like speedsters.

When you pair that with the fact that he was horribly ineffective behind a dominant Panthers pack when covering for Cleary, you'd have to wonder where this hair brained idea has come from...

He also has a rap sheet for being a ****wit. I can't see any upside, even small, to having him at Manly.

I had him in my Supercoach team for most of the season as a benchie & hoped he'd score me some good points when Cleary was out for SOO & injury but alas he was very ordinary.

No tyrone's please.

Especially not May. Liability. Only kept getting picked because he's close friends with nathan. Yet he stifles their attack every game he plays. Also does dumb **** off the field but once again, not worth the risk seeing he isn't good enough on the field to warrant it.

We now have the basis of a very good team, we need to be very selective who we add to it in terms of what they add on and off the field. On both counts it would be a no from me
