Haven't been on twitter in like 5+ years but that's an option nowadays; truth social obviously another. Once Murdoch et. al get their hands on Tik Tok it'll be a haven for MAGAt's too.

I actually appreciate your posts even though I disagree with them in part. I am certainly no MAGA guy, nor do I think Donald Trump or his very dodgy son in law have the interest everyday Americans at heart. I think we are on the cusp of something truly horrible happening. But I certainly don't think the Democrats are any better. I just believe the world is destined to go where it will regardless of which major political party is behind the wheel. Evil is evil, it doesn't discriminate.

I am not aligned with any political party in Australia or abroad.

Fair enough, I also agree with much of that sentiment. I wouldn't vote for the 2024' Democrat party if they happened to run here versus the Aus version (i.e. Labour). And on that topic, I also think Labour are fairly unremarkable. Prior to last election I was looking for Geoff Toovey's name.

I do think it has a lot to do with WW2 vets dying off / separation with that slice of history. Humans have basically fought each other since day dot. From sticks and stones to trebuchets, swords, bow & arrows, etc.. Cannons to guns, industrialisation. Suddenly we have powerful mechanical machines that can do things. 'How can we use that?'

Then came the 1900s. Enter tension. Bang, world war. Break time.

Economic crises, blame game. Resentment to rearmament, appeasement. Bang.

Thanks to the Holocaust, land-conquering and unregulated nationalism fell out of popularity for the most part till today. Most people in the world were scared straight. People started to focus on development, collaboration, standardisation. Globalised trade, fall of the Berlin wall, etc, etc.

It certainly isn't a linear journey and you're not wrong to suggest evil will continue to resurface.

Whether evil is materialising in the US or not, a silver lining is that it usually self-implodes and humanists come to pick up the pieces of what's left behind.

Trump’s deliberate provocation of sending troops into Democrat areas … isn’t it only a matter of time before either some nutter shoots a soldier or some soldier shoots a protester?

How else could this end?

Consider… he’s already declared ‘Antifa’ (ie protesters) a terrorist organisation … he’s already started summarily executing ‘terrorists’ - foreigners on the high seas on the basis they are drug runners (alleged drug runners, nothing proved) … he’s prosecuting and suing political opponents and media organisations to intimidate all critics (even comedians) …

I posted back in June that it was entirely predictable that Trump will find some excuse to declare a state of emergency and use that to try to crush opposition or even cancel elections. (Brookie1973 thought that was funny)( and maybe he still does)
