Trump

I had dipped out of this conversation but if you have ever watched any of his speeches you will see that this is not the case.

I am in no way defending Biden here or using him as a reference point but it would be interesting if the same coverage was applied to Trump when he speaks as there was to Biden (although to be fair because he speaks far more maybe we are just immune to it)
I’m pretty sure trump holds daily press conferences where he fields any and all questions from both sides of the political fence. I can’t think of any other world leader who does that or would be willing to do it. In contrast, bidens press conferences, when he could not avoid having one, were completely stage managed by his team of minders. You might not like what trump says, but impartial judges would say at least his answers make grammatical, if not political, sense.

Not sure Biden is the one who needs defending ... but the "Party" sure needs condemnation for deliberately and continuously lying to the American people about his physical and mental condition ..
There are books coming out left right and centre from the Democrats about how they knew and the cover-up to keep this silent. Trump is the exact opposite, very transparent always answers the questions no matter how bised and loaded they are.

The Democrats are coming out condemning each other for their abysmal Election failure

A couple of things

1. I know you are not a fan of clicking on links but his press conferences are far from "both sides". Take this as an example https://www.reuters.com/business/me...ying-court-order-restoring-access-2025-04-16/. But lets leave that one alone as you have already shown you are not interested in a good faith discussion where sources are provided
2. Trump is an old man and all things considered he does speak fairly well but he is far from articulate. There are so many examples going all the way back to 2017 of him slurring words. I mean lets just take this

There are many things that are worth discussing if we are going to talk about Trump (like the approach to Tariffs / his views on China) but if you are honestly saying that he makes grammatical sense there is no real point in talking

I do agree the lack of transparency over his health was damning and a selfish act

Aren't you kind of knit picking a bit Isz, Trumps been in Politics since 2016 thats 9 yrs and he's done so many rallies and speechs in that time, I've lost count. And you highlight just this.

I am more than open to good faith discussions, and have in fact specifically asked for same several times in this thread, without response. You keep asking for balanced, good faith discussions, but I am genuinely curious as to what that means to you. I, for example, have indicated that I think trump is a clownish buffoon (but still may be the best man to lead the western world at this time in history) and that it is likely Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential elections (albeit not election defining and quite distinct to collusion, or if you prefer, conspiracy and coordination). Is there anything on the conservative side of the political spectrum that you believe has merit, or conversely, is there anything to the left of the political spectrum that you disagree with eg open borders, trans people in woman’s sports, defunding police etc? Genuine question.

As to the question of press restrictions, I don’t agree that AP should have been excluded from special briefings in the White House, but I do understand why that was done. I would counter by saying that this ban does not apply to the White House briefing room, only to invitation only special events hosted in the WH by the President. I continue to take the view that the vast majority of western mainstream media adopts an anti-trump bias, with the single exception of Fox. Do you agree? Again, a genuine question.

Are you serious? There are so many examples of his word salad, slurring etc.

I actually made a point of watching his rallies live and is he is very far from articulate. Now yes he is an older gent so some of this is to be expected.

Now I am not going to talk about anything regarding cognitive decline as I do not think you can make that assumption without proper tests but here are some examples of his word salads etc

Watch: Old Man Trump Slurs and Stumbles Through Weird Speech (strenght and digny)

in what world is talking like this articulate?

put your pants on?

Hannibal Lector? How great of an actor was he?

we all remember bleach which whilst not a word salad was something else

there are heaps in this clip but to be fair some I do not agree with but what about taking over the airports in the 1700's?

There are so so many more. Honestly he is an older man in a high pressure job so you would expect some strain but he is not a clear speaker

Going to leave the first part of the question as we have already gone down that path

Lets talk about his approach to press. This is a great read How the Trump Administration Is Changing the White House Briefing Room but I know you find clicking links a tough task so I will pull some things out of it

For decades, 49 permanent seats have been determined by the independent White House Correspondents’ Association. Reporters in the front rows of these seats are usually called on more often.

And in March, the White House said that it would consider taking control of the reporters’ seating chart, in its latest move to shape who covers the president.

Ms. Leavitt then called on nine people for questions. The only question not about Signal came from Ms. Castronuova of LindellTV, who was standing along the perimeter. “Why are Democrats so against election integrity measures, like obviously, proof of citizenship,” she asked, “when it comes to voting in the United States election?”

I do think there is a valid debate over new media and its role in things like this however if you have ever watched anything of Mike Lindell you could argue pretty easily it is far from media

There are definitely some media agencies that have an anti trump bias however I would argue that the impact of the fox news pro trump stance has been far more damaging although that is based only on my personal view...as I feel like providing sources is somewhat useless

I was genuinely hoping to have a balanced discussion.

We are better off leaving it as we have different views on how to do that
Yes. My view is that to have a balanced debate we should understand the pros and cons of each others position. What we agree and disagree with on both sides of politics. Who knows, we might even find some common ground. But it seems all you want to do is post anti-trump press articles and ask me to respond. If I have misunderstood, I apologise.

Ok, thats 5 you've found on YouTube, bravo. Again, all the rallies and press conferences and speechs that Trump has done over 9yrs. It's just flat out knit picking.

Sigh

You ask for more I give you more….but it is never enough is it.

Honestly you watch any speech, and I have watched plenty, there are always examples

Why do you think he came up with that explanation of the “weave”
