Trial V Wabbits

Willett was very interesting ,while very tall was not as fast as I thought he maybe (i could be wrong )
He played very well so no complaints whatsoever, I feel though he is a Backrower, possible front rower (via a stint in the centres ) in waiting as he fills out which he invariably will do as he is only a teenager I think
I thought Tahcihako ?? went ok ,I hope Tents shoulder is only minor, Flaulo was fabulous ,Lehi great ,and I really like what Simpkin did again I thought he got those forwards going at pace ,Sippers was great ,and Schoup played well , BA was pretty good bar a few kicks that could have been better, and he and Matterson will both hopefully get better as the season progresses
In general, I thought they played pretty well together
So all in all for trial ,I was pretty happy and we appear to have a lot of depth all of a sudden in the centers and FB which is terrific

At first, I was excited about a win but then thinking about it in broader context ...

Hoppa is a class above reserves (knew that)

Falaulo is good but might be too good to keep playing reserves for us

Schoup is a good defensive centre (good to know)

Paseka is less uninjured than he was last week (not good)

TKO has a great nickname and could be a good pick up

Arthur is a serviceable nrl half replacement (knew that)

Matterson is a serviceable nrl half replacement (good to know)

Bunnies might be two short in their spine (good to know)

It being reported that the bunny's never ordered paramedics for yesterday's trial is the reason for the delay.

The Ambos who cared for a member of the crowd were called to respond to that emergency. They were never attending for the footy.
That’s outrageous incompetence - safety is paramount! They must be docked at least 10 competition points and made an example of

So all the sh1t James Hooper carried on with, was lies. Like all of his 'news' stories.

I was particularly interested in watching Chris Patolo in action on Saturday. Got to say somewhat underwhelming compared to what I was expecting. Limited minutes I know and he did nothing wrong but after watching the videos on the guy, I was certainly expecting more from him. On that performance, no way he makes the 17 in 25. Am I being too harsh here on the young guy?

Not in the short term [ Patolo in the 17 ] but does look to have the makings of a strong middle forward . Just a bonus also that he can apparently play on an edge
So with more match fitness and getting into the grind again , good expectations [ as opposed to great ] that he could be a good impact forward pressing for i st grade not too far down the track

Waddell had some involvement as well .
Predictable to a point and can never expect world beating efforts but quite reliable and doesn 't seem to shirk the hard going .
Seibs looks to have a quite favorable take on him but no assurance of course that he would be an automatic selection in a game day 17

6ft 1in and 110kg isn't at the top end of middle forwards these days. Most monsters are at least 6ft 4in 120kg

What did everyone think of Navale's game on Saturday.
I thought he looked very fit, tackled well, attack wise, not a lot of impact tbh, looks to have lost a few kg's since last year. Navale needs to add more bulk and be that line busting forward that we all thought he was going to be.

I reckon he went OK and has some prospects. I see him in the mould of an Ethan Bullimore type - seems to have good leg speed and in space, could be difficult to bring down.

Didn't occur to me he was seen as a line busting forward or a Bullemor type.

I was thinking more a defence-minded player with good technique and stamina, capable of keeping the middle tight over long minutes. Competent rather than threatening in attack.

Which, with our plethora of star backs, could be exactly what we need.

For this year, possibly allowing Jake to play reduced minutes? Maybe in competition with Brown for a bench spot as the season progresses.

" thinking more of a defence-minded player " isn't every forward a defence minded player when defending. All forwards should have a point of difference, from what I saw from Navale he doesn't seem to have one. Anyway, that's just my opnion.

I think we need to find a way to get rid of one if not two of these three (Garrick,Saab ,Koula)
Hoppa needs to be in the team & Faulalo should be in the mix as a cheaper option than the 3 mentioned.
