Well, that was VERY forgettable. Got to say we were very harshly treated by the refs in play. We were not given much chance. Having said that we were terrible, and I expected a lot better. Not too many in that team to feature in 1st grade.
We didn't want it as much as the Panthers well done to them.
And as I always say defense wins games.

Another masterclass by Atkins, always reserves his best dodgy calls for a us.

Agree he had an extremely quite game for a player of his ability.
Yes it was but 4 times premiers 3rd grade side didn't see it that way. Maybe that's why that club is 4 times premiers while we've been in a decade of dogsh*t.
It was not a Win or a Draw . Very Far from it
It was a disappointing 38 to 22 Loss to a lesser Rookie Penrith team that Ran Riot over us
Yes it was a Trial but that does not mean that our More Established and Experienced players humiliate them selves to a bunch of Rookies .
Dymock may be sitting in the Chair but The Chairman of the coaching staff who calls the Shots and the Director of the teams play tonight was Seibold
The Good news is that we escaped injuries
The Sad news is that we did not learn anything from last seasons Capitulation exit

Koula was quiet but he still had 7 runs and 71 metres more than the centre on the other side who was also captain for the day. Wouldn’t read much into their performances anyway given they were missing their usual halves and second rowers inside them.
Disappointing game for sure but at least the guys who are definite first graders (Lehi, Bully) looked a class above. Wasn’t too excited by the Taukeaiho signing at first but he has impressed me the last couple of weeks (minus the leg pulls) too and has earned a spot in the 17 for round 1 now IMO. Didn’t think Simpkin or Gordie were too bad either so hopefully one or both can step up this season. As for the rest of the squad - mostly disappointed in those with NRL experience like Waddell, Chee Kam, Arthur and even Sipley who seems to have fallen off a cliff over the last year

2024. Guess who "won it". The Broncs with the Roosters 2nd - Panthers did not play due to world club challenge (which they lost) and the storm went 1 and 1

Why are people surprised that players like Koula, Brown etc weren’t at their best & had a quite half? It’s the first run in 4 months that ended up being in the hardest conditions. it’s not a big deal at all, that’s what trials are for. If they haven’t picked up after a few weeks in the NRL season then it becomes a problem.
Panthers did well - they played like it was the biggest game of their lives which it probably is for a lot of them. We thought it would be easy & got rolled over. Some of the reffing in that first 20 was also horrible but no excuses it was a bad performance, I will say I’m glad this happened in a trial & not round 1.

The refereeing was pathetic, our attitude was pathetic and the game was pathetic !
If the NRL thinks they are on a winner with this so called pre- season challenge they are pathetic 🤔

Played outside Waddell - a player completely devoid of ball skills. Therefore never given a hint of a gap or ourtside space.
