I just listened to the podcast. Tony is very impressive and I hope he hangs around for a long long time. Just seems to be a Manly boy.

Main take-outs for me from the interview were
1. Main focus in pre-season will be on defence as it wasn’t good enough this year
2. Lehi will be extended for a good period
3. Tommy is on the other side of his problem with injuries and will finish his career at the club. Not necessarily at fullback
4. Bateman unlikely as will need to move a player or two and Manly isn’t willing to do so.

On Turbo he mentioned he will captain the club, with his contract extension, thinks we haven’t seen the best out of Turbo yet.

Two places left in the 30 man squad.

Lehi still a development player heading into 2025, though will be eligible for round one selection.

No mention of DCE through out his chat, though he definitely said Turbo will be club captain, I don’t know if that’s anything to read into with DCE.

Rumours and only rumours is he won’t play representative football again.

Gee, I'd love it if we were able to send him off with another premiership ring in his final year (whether that be this year or whenever that may be).

Big Tony said Turbo will definately captain the side, in the future. Best still to come over the next 5-6 years.

Says it may not be at fullback that Turbo makes his contributions to the team.

Also said expect an announcement on the club tieing Lehi down to the club long term.

John Bateman unlikely ATM. Although identifed as someone that could contribute to the team, so not impossible. Issue is 2 spots left in top 30 are both minimum contracts, so for Bateman to come in would have to release someone in the top 30 which at this stage the club dosent want to do.

Then added a week is a long time in rugby league and things change quickly. So wouldn't exclude Bateman coming in, just right now it's unlikely.

Gee the impression I get is the club must be trying to shop someone but was out of luck this week.
