Tommy T Injured - usa bound

Perhaps we can send Tosh Schustavic back to Knowles in the US and they can work on a new cartwheeling running style. Employ their 6 legs and 5 arms to simply roll down the field.

Yeah not the way it works. Massive pressure on these guys to get out there and play with injuries. They're treated as commodities not people. Not productive if they're sitting on sidelines.
Its not that productive if they end up out for the season because they "played" with injuries either @mickqld

When Saab made that break up the middle, Turbo flew up next to him at good speed, so he can run at top speed, but it only seems to be when instinct kicks in. If hes thinking about it, like on all kick returns, he gets run down by front rowers.

Anyway, hes broken again. Team needs to adapt. We adapted quite well last year before rainbow gate derailed the season. We can do it again.

I'm sure we're not relying on Tom as in previous years, especially 2021 as his fitness and form are nowhere near close to his best, not many linebreaks or try assists so far this year, even his returns are nothing runs and he just submits in the tackle. Sometimes the stats don't give you the full picture, but can look impressive running for 250mts or more, but if you take the bombs, maybe 20/25 times and run 10mts minimum each time you clock up the mts but really you've achieved nothing in attack apart from catching the bomb safely.
Surely at training the fitness coaches monitor Tom when he's doing sprints, in full speed he's not far behind Saab, so what do the coaches see or does he sit out top speed sprints as part of his training program.

We all hope Tom can come good and be the player he used to be, but I don't think we'll miss him in his current form as much as we used to, Weekes to FB for me.

I guess we’ll find out how bad the strain is after his scans (maybe) think Seibs was a bit guarded leading the presser astray yesterday, saying he could of finished the game, he was lame when he got up to play the ball.

Even a slight tear could mean a month and anything up to 16 weeks if it was serious, not expecting that, but won’t be surprised if we‘ll be without Tommy for at least a month.

Hopefully we leave Rubes on the wing and Weekes get his chance at FB.

One of the highlights of the 90s was getting regular updates on Ian Roberts' groin, he had a chronic issue, but still played at a very high standard.

I think any team in the current competition will struggle when a high percentage of their salary cap is sitting on the bench. If this groin is another long term injury a discussion needs to be had surrounding his contract situation or even potentially stepping away (only if he decides it’s what’s best for his body) but either way we can’t talk premierships until we are at least in a position where we can rely on our top #17 taking the field weekly and lasting 80 minutes.

Anyone know how Blacktown went on the weekend or how or where Weekes played . If Turbo needs a rest , would seem logically a good opportunity for Kaeo there against the Titans . Realize that Reuben is capable back there but Weekes did well at one in that last trial , Surely as good a time as any to give him a go there , encourage him to stay in the process and to benefit the side all round providing he was in reasonable or good touch for Blacktown

This notion that Turbo played injured is increasing in volume ... but it is still stupid ...

He twinged his groin ... completely new injury .. and one that I cannot remember him ever suffering before ...

Yet people are still righteously proclaiming he shouldn't play injured .. WELL .. he didn't , he came straight off.

Blacktown lost 24-16. Weekes played Fullback.
Oh well , time will tell i guess if Turbo is unfit . Guess also the option of Tui back on the wing and Garrick at the back but Weekes would seem a better all round proposition and positionally back there then Reuben . Although Rueben did go particularly well yesterday .
